Aside from trolling, anyone have something productive to add to the convo?
What buildings would be needed? What units would be needed?
I see a dock / shipyard being the first piece of the puzzle. The shipyard could then be used to produce specialty boat types - some kind of 'derrick' for pumping the hydro resource, plus some kind of storage, plus a water borne wall type unit (net?).
Yeah, bring in some ships and naval units. I thinks this could elevate the game to a whole new level. Or if thats too much hassle then maybe just a waterborne dark troop or something like that? The kraken? Or a spell that would make a tsunami or someting? May as well use the ocean, eh?
The big issue I have with naval units is they are only suggested because of a decorative feature placed in the game. If this feature were used it'd be a major pain. Right now all of the action takes place in a single area which you can see the entirety of. Naval units would require having to swipe back and forth between water and land.
Also what would be the point? Great you've got a kraken unit now. I just drop all my troops on land and laugh while it looks at me funny. The whole point of a navy is to get troops from point a to point b and to keep others from doing so, but we can already do that over land. If you're suggesting we have to go through the ocean to deploy troops, that would be a total mess.
Basically how would this feature integrate with the game? How does it make sense? What would make it fun instead of it feeling contrived?
No, but if a hundred people do, I might. Although a parking lot would be silly. Replacing the forest with more buildable land would be the route I'd take probably. I think a number of people would like more village space.
Also at least monkeys swinging in from the trees would make sense and be possible to manage.
