I love seeing early concepts for Hay Day :) it could have looked so different.
I like the first fisherman :)
Wow! I actually like how the first Angus looks!
That's a very good question! :D We usually come up with the name when the final character is done. The name needs to "look" like the character. :) So, to answer your question, nope they didn't have any names at that point.
If you guys want to ask me some more, the stage is yours! :)

Sure! :) #3 is actually not the final version of Angus, rather an early version of him. The team gets to vote which one they like the most, and then our artists look into what feedback the team has provided and work from there. :) There are a lot of iterations for each character (or any art) and every time the team gets to provide comments and feedback when there's a new iteration available.
If you guys have more questions just let me know! :)
Cheers,
Nick
Loving these, Nick. The background info is interesting and gives us a peek inside the quirky brains of the SC designers. Really looking forward to more old art and related history. Refreshing and entertaining.
I agree, would be fun to see how Greg or Alfred started out, and how you all finally decided on the eclectic mix of characters we know so well. Bet the animals went through interesting stages in their production as well.......:)
I like the #2 & #3 because it remind me of the characters of the tv shows too!..Pretty cool!!
I would like to see moreeeeee! lol oh and what about the girls??
I'd like to hear the story of how the little girl "serial killer" got her story line. She always blames her shopping on her grandmother, but I as well as others aren't to sure about that.
SC has artists, but does SC have writers who decide the angle of each of the characters as well?
