Fat fingers or Poor Tactics

I'm interested to see how many of us make fundamental mistakes still.

Last night raiding for 300k gold I dropped a rage spell on my level 4 goblins. They were gone out of its radius in a second, so I thought I would be smart and drop another rage spell over a storage as the enemy wiz tower was raking everything in sight.
I thought great the goblins will so take it down before the wiz tower fries them......no why are you running over to the DE storage.......I WANT THAT GOLD NOT THE DE
Too late all goblins dead. 75k of gold and massive expense for having fat fingers with poor tactics :(

leaves the room crying :)

Yesterday i found an th7 with 200k gold 200k elix...

sent in 8giants, 2 healers, got nicel to the storages at the inside, then i WANTED to put my archers in, but i did all 4 damage spells outside the village... so 80k gold lost at this moment :p

good, then ive made it to get my archers in and ive had some goblins which destroyed the tanks in some seconds, but ive only got about 50k/50k... so it was not in the storages!!!

damn no more defense at the mines left, and i havent got troops left -_-

Im lvl 94 and every day... EVERY SINGLE DAY... I do something really stupid..

Today i deployed a Heal spell just inside the base.. negelecting the fact that i had to get through his foooking walls first.. by the time i had broke through the heal spell was gone! Brilliant... wasted 3hrs and 26.5k

I regularly drop one rage spell, then drop the others at the edge of the screen.

Not content with that, I will generally lose my temper and spam the rest of my army within the rage spells even when it is pointless to drop them there.

If wall breakers start acting up, I won't simply cut my losses and find another target, I will chuck all of the wall breakers away , spam the giants then chuck spells around the pace

Then I get more angry.

I have been know to do this myself.....hmmmm daily as well ;)

I can not learn to loose
I just dropped 3 upgraded lightening spells to get 35000 gold.
I spent 40000 on the silly spells - but I like the way things blow up mwahahaha

If I carry on like this - I will be dropping them on the top tier in like 10 years :p

But to be honest it does depend what level your at.

I imagined it on a th5-6 that would be funny

Far too many time has it happened that I've sent my giants in without taking out the clan castle. I feel so stupid losing to someone 15 levels less than me just because I forgot about the cc.

First time I used a healer, super excited. Dropt giants, dropt healer... healer got killed by the air defense around the corner... timed my wb's really bad so they got killed by the mortar and all gold/ elixier was in the storage, all in all 2k loot each. Yay :rolleyes: my head still hurts from banging it against the wall....

Lol...not as bad as me...i dropped 3 santa spells after the santa spell was removed on empty greenland!!!! wow i was so ♥♥♥♥♥♥..and it was after the battle.

i mentioned this in another post, but again it happened this morning :(

i usually raid with 20 wbs in stock, in case i see a 3-walled defence with 400k.

so i drop two groups of two giants to draw motar fire, then drop 3wbs to break the first layer, then drop archers along the outer perimeters to clear the mines so my gobs will go for the storages when path is clear..

lo and behold.. i didnt tap the archers.. and released all the rest of wbs on the other perimeter.. and the make a beeline for the walls in different places.. and in the meanwhile it hadnt struck me as yet.. and i was happily releasing giants at the original drop spot..

needless to say, all got slaughtered.. i walked away with <10k loot.. ouchhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

plastic surgery can take care of the fat fingers, but nothing's gonna help my dumb brain lol

My act of foolness mostly starts when i see a nice big loot to be grabbed for.. And start sending out my wallbreakers all at once.. See'ing them just getting raped before my eyes.. Breaking 1 line of walls, where the rest still got 2 line of walls to go.. Gotta hate over excitement and useless drops of troops.

So, I realise that I have bored most people to tears w/ the story of dropping four rage spells on four different builder huts.
(For the rest who have not heard, yes, I did that once, and dropped a barb in the spell as not to waste it.)
This is not that story.

But last night, in the thrill of juggling 2 account (one of which is still rolling in the sub 100s)
and two salacious clan chats,

I sent a full 200 L5 troop army: 12 giants, 10 wallies, 45 archers, 55 goblins, and 30 barbarians (do the math)
after a base with only... 10K of resources and bumblebee walls,
because I misread the number or zeroes in the loot!

one thing i've learnt, always hit the mines/collectors first.. there's always something there whereas storages may hold far lesser amounts.. besides.. gobs running all over the outer perimeters always gets motars misfiring hahah..

but often instead of deploying gobs.. i end up doing a wb rush :(

I must say I hate spamming WBs when I think I'm spamming archers. I think that is one of the reasons why I never train WBs anymore. Or maybe it is because THEY ARE COMPLETE IDIOTS. :mad:

ladst night had fairly easy target, went to drop a couple wallbreakers, thought that i hit the barbs next and went for mass barb invasion, boom 22 wallbreakers later created a fairly large hole, net profit from raid about 30 k gold. Waiting time for next round of troops a very long time. These stories made me laugh and cry. I feel your pain.

Lvl 82 TH9 been playing since July during Canadian Beta test.

Does lightning spell damages your own troop in the radius? ive actually never paid attention to it. i just drop it when my troops and their CC troops clashes

I hate having such good raids go wrong makes me wanna cry.

I rarely misclick, but it's still a pain when it happens. Those of you of the iPad persuasion have it easy.

You don't have fat fingers, maybe poor wait skills (you really gotta break the walls first lol) but there is a common issue you all and myself included share. The issue is without selecting a troop CoC automatically defaults to the first troop on far left of selection.

Try it on a goblin map (they won't post screenies here;)

I had to practice slowing down and ensuring that I have actually selected a troop and its not the default troop selected by CoC. Also notice when you run out of troops CoC will select a spell for you! (It defaults to the first item on the left and then moves to the right)

NB: to the guys I attacked over the weekend lets all agree now, my tactics were rubbish and in one instance I launched troops after iPad had hit me in the head when I fell asleep!

first time of spell using , too over-excite , the ipad on my knees accidently move ..end up drop the spell 5 miles away from the village then just leave it and throw away thphy
so embarrasing ,
he will question when view a replay for what exactly tactic strategy am trying to do:confused:

Awww u beat me to it...I always seem to bust through all the walls with breakers...think I click barbs or archers and send a hoard of breakers and take out an entire side of their base lol :eek:

I did not realise it defaulted to the most left side of selection

I will have to slow down my attack and take more time

I have another delicious anecdote of an epically fat finger fail for this thread.

A true story,
this just happened today.

So, I was strolling down 1200 Trophy Avenue,
when I saw a base with almost 750K resources.
Ecstatically delighted, and giddy with excitement,
this little Potato counted all the zeroes - see, she learns quick from her previous mistakes
- and launched a raid that she hoped would go down Farming4Gold / Farming4Elixir history as a truly victorious battle for our empire.

And so, she deployed her barbs and archers around the base,
to distract and to weed out those nasty little spring traps that ruin every farmer's day.

But lo! Behold!
In her noob joy, she had employed, all 20 of her L5 wall breakers around the base!

They sprinted, as fast as they could, carrying those glistening golden bombs,
some dying in the hands of eagle eyed archers,
others fried to death by the electrocuting fronds of violent teslas;
and the few that got past, hardly making a dent in those shimmering violet crystal walls.

All disappointment of losing a large chunk of that gold and elixir,
pales in comparison with the great sorrow my heart feels over the lost of those stoic 20 bombers;
and as such, I cannot proceed further. :(

I did something similar this morning
Deployed giants and healer, thought I was launching archers but sent my WB's
I thought no worries will send archers and goblins......WB's find the tesla and traps, I look up and my archers should have taken out air defence to protect healer to protect giants.....but she's already gone
1 star and only 20% of elixir no gold :(

I think my biggest problem is iPhone 4S, I need to liberate my iPad from the wife or buy an iPad mini just for clamming ;)

I used daddy's tactics and just raided 450k gold and 300k of purple juice

My most common mistake is to drop spells accidentally, preferably in places no where near the enemy base it seems... And the worst part of it is that I normally use all my level 5 lightning spells when it happens. One would think that ONE miss-click should be enough, but nooo - it's an all or nothing kind of deal it seems. Happens about lnce every two or three days.

Second most common mistake is when I let my childish lust for mayhem get the better of me and drop my archers to early, and in to big numbers. I really hate seeing a good attack turn sour just because "that bloody mortar" got "lucky" with the very last shot...

Other than that I normally tend to avoid bases that look like my base, especially if it's closer to max, but if I am frustrated I sometimes succeed in persuading myself that my rather cheap army (50k or so) can take it. That wont be so bad. But it almost always is exactly that bad.

Well, I don't want to speak for anyone else, but in my case it's because I am stupid I think haha. At least sometimes. And to really hammer it in, proving that I also never learn, I can mention that I make the exact same mistakes again, on my second account, that I did when my main base was TH 6. Some things have improved naturally, but I'm also more cocky this time around.

I have come back to the threads, as it has become so bad with my attacks in COC!! Fat finger hell, I would be better off using my big toe! I seem to waste my spells, my Pekka walks in like he been at a bar, my Archers act as though they are shooting at U.F.O'S and my Barbarians run around like they are the ones being attack. I have started searching for a class I can take, COC 101, but Google gives me nothing. I have considered going back to my comic book collecting but all the covers I look at have a COC toon on the cover. I have nightmares of barbarians taking my wife and giving her to a clan. To think I left Everquest for all of this.

this happens to me way too often...

i drop a few well-placed wallbreakers and marvel at how they did exactly what i wanted and just took out the exterior wall. then i think about how all i need to do is drop some giants/barbs and time my next round of wallbreakers to avoid the mortars and then i'll break through the second wall to reach the resources with almost my entire army in tact.

guaranteed fat loots, right?

WRONG.

the very next thing i do is drop all my remaining wallbreakers as if they were giants/barbs and watch in horror as they all die/explode harmlessly. then i spend my remaining troops to little or no effect and cringe at the thought of someone replaying it while i find the "surrender" button.

My wall breakers make me laugh and cry

I send two at a nice wall and they blow what I want. I am zoomed in and put down two more to go through te gap made and take out the next wall.....but they done run out from under my finger

And as I lift my finger up I see them running in the opposite direction towards the big purple wiz tower

Every group after that run towards the same tower...how why when
