Use 90 bar 94 arc 8 wb. Drop to 1100-1400 and farm bases with exposed resources. Try to maintain ur cups in that range with attack wins but u can always throw away a few. Use ur cc and heroes as much as possible, but make sure the heroes dont get much damage. Carry a rage to crack the occasional base that attacking the storages is worth it on.

First of all, don't think you have to destroy every base. Look for deserted bases with all the loot in their mines. Most important thing to look for is zero builder activity. Farming is all about return on investment so try not to use spells or slow-baking troops. Taking 100k gold with a handful of troops and having your guys ready to go again straight away is much more valuable than maxing a base for 200k and have to wait 20 mins before raiding again.
however because there will sometimes be bases you do want to max, build a multi-purpose army that has enough scavanging forces for easy loot but enough power for the occasional 'all-in' attack. I recommend 80 archers, 30 goblins, 12 giants, 8 WBs and a healer. Don't forget the giants' ability to soak up weapons' attention while you loot as well as their offensive capabilities.
for me, the sweet spot for farming at th8 was 1100-1200 - plenty of deserted th7 bases there. Th7 and th8 are the lands of plenty for farming so dont go up till you're maxed out!
hmm... everybody seems to be ignoring the fact that you are a trophy hunter switching to farming so main goal=resources, no trophies(no offense if you aren't just seem like 1 from your words to me) cept to stay in specified trophy range 1,300-1,400 has worked for me with 2 barracks pumping barbarians and 2 barracks pumping archers and maybe 1 with minions if you don't mind using dark elixir so if you choose to use the BA army(barbs+Arch) then picking off mines is great and having the gold storages snipable with the archers is great and prior to what you think barbs can be used as very effective meat shields but spread 1 line of them then put a line or two of archers behind them when the first wave of barbarians die out spread another minimizing barbarian use and still soaking up damage. You can add 4-8 wall breakers to break to the storages if you so wish and then the archers will take the rest. minions can add more efficiency to this army comp. because of their flight and speed they can be used to destroy the gold storages very easily. Here is an army comp. using wall breakers, archers, barbs,goblins(optional) and minions(optional)

20 minions(switch out with 20 barbs and 20 archers)
12 goblins(completely not necesary just added because you asked, switch with 6 barbs and 6 archers, its suggested by me)

Since he said he is bad at farming i don't think barch will work well for him. My old Gold Farming arm is a mix of:
12 Giants
12 Wallbreakers
32 Goblins
24 Barbarians
60 Archers
Bam just spam barbs and arch and once there's a path to the gold, spam the minions
