Interesting idea. I actually like it.
It would have to have a slow attack and speed so that a rage wouldn't be op
however, nice idea
Nice concept.
I think it would be shot down though because of the 'set' change in graphics that would need to occur.
Programming wise, it would be a challenging change for Supercell (no units currently change in appearance 'permanently' during attacks). Having a whole bunch of these on attack would result in a bit more demand on system resources so probably wouldn't fly since this is primarily a mobile game.
A good idea, but it may be too op when attacking with a full hydra army. And it's gonna prove are challenge to sc as changing appearance in the middle of a battle is not easy. Anyway great!:):)
Reminds me of the hydra unit from Age of Mythology :) but it's a great idea.
Hi everyone!
Here's a great new troop idea.
Dark Elixir troop- Ghost
Training Cost- 500 Dark Elixir
Hit points- 2500
Damage per second- 75
Movement speed- 35
Favorite Target- Town Halls/ Dark Elixir Collectors and Storage
Damage type- Single Target
Housing space- 35
Training time- 25min.

Tell me what u think about the idea!!!
thank you guys for the feedback, you all are posing very good points which is the whole reason I wanted to post this on this forum. Here's a few of the dilemmas that you all have proposed.
1. Changing appearances would be too difficult for the system.
I understand that, I think Supercell would be capable of doing something like this (considering the Golem is able to split into two separate units when it dies) So maybe to fix that we change the troop from a Hydra to something else? I am totally fine with changing the over all character, as long as we keep the basic idea (Increase damage as health gets lower) if anyone knows of a creature (mythological or fantasy) that gets stronger as it gets hurt, feel free to let me know.
2. Possibly overpowering if used in a group.
I tried my best to make sure this troop is reasonably fair/balanced, but I can see how it could be a bit too much. So would lower the hit point be a reasonable resolution to that problem? Possibly have less health than a dragon, but more damage than a PEKKA. Let me know what you guys think of that idea.
3. Slower attack speed.
This point was brought to my attention and here is my reasoning for the high attack speed. Most troops attack once every second or more, there are no troops that have a fast rate of fire. the X-Bow is an extremely dangerous defense because it attacks so fast, so why not have a troop that hits that fast?
Just to make sure everyone knows, Damage Per Second and Attack Speed are two separate things. If the DPS is 200 and the Attack Speed is .5 seconds that would mean it does 100 damage per attack. So while the Hydra does a lot of damage per second, its damage per attack would be lower considering its high attack speed.
The PEKKA his the highest damage per second, but it attacks every 2.5 second, making its damage per attack immense but slow, the Hydra would be the opposite, Higher Damage per second, but lower Damage per attack.
I can understand lowering the damage because of this but I feel the high attack speed is one of the unique characteristics of the Hydra. If not on this Troop I would at least like to see some troop with a fairly high attack speed.
Those are the only three complaints I have seen so far, and I may post a revised version of the Stats later once I work out the math. Thank you guys for the awesome feedback!

The reduce in hitpoints is definitely more balanced for this unit and solves the problem for massing this unit for easy win. I think this unit is a great idea/concept, i would like to see this added to the game.
