We need alternates for war

We had a user not play today because his internet was out so he couldn't attack in war.
Another player was driving and on the road so that player could not attack in war.
Another player did not show up.

The enemy base did not have players make a total of ten attacks and if they did, they might have won.

Can we have alternates in war to make it fair?

If someone refuses to play, please give co-leader or leader the ability to use their base and attack in war.

It is getting ridiculous that clan management cannot make players do anything because I can boot the player, nothing will change that player and another clan will get the player from global and that player will again not show up in war.

You absolutely cannot swap different people into a war after it has started. Thats way too exploitable.

As far as the scenarios you gave...most clans kick anyone that refuses to attack. Certainly dont take them in war again if they ever pull that but if it was me I would kick.

.... the person driving failed you. He should have opted out if his schedule did not allow hin to participate. Most cans have a both attacks no excuses. personally I would not kick a guy for that happening once but if its a regular thing then out he goes. Your clan rules should be both attacks or opt out. Thats why they gave opt out.

...the guy whos internet service failed. Oh well, stuff happens. That you should just let it slide, its not like those things happen a lot. But if they do miss attacks a lot then he should not be in wars. You dont care why, missing is missing.

The problem is more players are becoming unreliable faster than I can recruit good players.

The clan management system cannot give me a good clan.

We are keeping players out of one war for each attack they miss and then a possible permanent ban.
If I could recruit players fast enough, we still would not play them because we would wait until they were no longer new to see if they would stay with us instead of hop after war starts. On top of that, I have to reject players that are rushed from global.

Look at it from another point of view. If I was in college, I could not play clash of clans. I had eight or ten hour homework. I had college papers that took at least six hours or more to write. In order to play this game, players have to give up their own personal or professional life. The reality is they treat it is like a game because Clash of Clans is a game. They treat people in their personal life more important than strangers on the internet. As a result, sanity makes game players suffer because real life is better than enslavement to players that don't want to stop playing.

As a co leader, planning war is stressful. I have to do roll call and no one answers. I wait in the chat room to ask players, "Do you want to be in war?" It takes all day because relying on the "opt in" or "opt out" system doesn't work. I also keep a notebook to see who I put in war and how many stars they got and how many times they got starred. I make a list of players who I want to put in war and a list of players I don't want in war. It is stressful because I cannot call players on the phone and say, "You have to attack." I have to wait in the chatroom and direct the war from there.

I can lose because someone doesn't want to show up. Do you play a game of chess and hope that the other person will show up? Of course, you don't. Then why would you do all of this work for clash of clans?

The fact that I have to overcompensate for this game means that it is not a working system that players will devote their time to. It means that during every war, there is someone who is going to treat real life to be greater than clash of clans and they won't show up. And if I kicked those who did not participate in attacking twice during war, there would not be a list of ten players who want to win or play in war with us.

My favorite part is that you struggle with the same problems over and over again that many other clans don't have a problem with but expect them to change the game to fit your needs. You really need to look at yourself and stop blaming SC for your inability to successfully manage a clan

Seriously, you have players that can't log in to a game for 5 minutes (out of 24 hours, that is 1440 minutes) to do their attacks and you put them in wars? (Do they ever go to the bathroom?)

Say what? So I could in your system end up with 49 dead bases in a clan and if I'm co-leader in that clan I would be able to do 50vs50 wars and attack with the 49 other dead bases?

I think we have been here before. The risk of recruiting is that the player is not what you want, that is how it is in real life and how it is in the game. It's kind of you to care so much about other clans, however it is up to them to do with players what they want. Maybe they have a different setup that makes that player thrive perfectly there.
This is a question about clan management.

I dont intend to be mean or hurtful but what you are really saying is that your clan needs better leadership. Other clans do not have these problems. Perhaps a year of living elsewhere and observing how a good leader makes it happen would be a good development step. A lot of guys even come to see that being leader aint all its cracked up to be and stop wanting it. Too often guys become leaders only because they want the title to make them feel important but then they find out how heavy the crown is. My clan does run well but even so I myself have considered giving it up so that I can just go relax in a well run clan and let someone else do the shoveling.

Leadership is not going to keep someone's internet from going out. The player had construction in his home and the computer got moved. His data ran out.
Leadership is not going to keep someone's little brother from grabbing a phone and having a number 7 attack a number 1 in war.
Leadership is not going to keep someone from getting in the car and driving all day instead of show up for war.
As a leader I cannot physically go over to their homes and tell them to get busy clashing.

I'm not a miracle worker and I'm not a mind reader.
It is easy to blame leadership instead of taking responsibility by saying that players are not committed or perfect. They are human and life comes up.

It is your clan's leadership that recruits players and puts them in war. It is your clan's leadership that should be engendering a culture where it is unacceptable to not use both war attacks (with war armies) on a viable target, where it is expected that players will use the opt in/out feature and stick to their stated status, etc, etc.

Be more selective and you will not have these problems.

Yet again, you are asking for game changes to resolve clan management issues.

Coaches are fired all the time. Some find new jobs on other teams as assistant coach or even lower. (Hint)

Then your clan is not the right fit for those players.

If you have that many miss war then your doing to big of a war.
