If matching was done by Th level as some are suggesting, there is a large likelihood that Th9s at very different stages of development will be matched to each other.

I don't think YOU or Dorsan, to name a few, are seeking an advantage but I wouldn't be so fast to dismiss the notion that all maxers are not trying to seek an advantage.

How can one complain about being matched to someone their own townhall level? Being maxed has nothing to do with it.

As I stated; I'd rather be at a disadvantage to someone my own townhall level than to be at one against someone with a higher townhall. That's the crux of the argument; IDK what to tell you if your hate for maxers doesn't allow you to see that.

I dont hate maxer, as I have maxed TH9-11 accts, but I dont like people complaining other people is trying to get advantage, while the complainer unconsciously doing the same thing with perma max TH 9, and asking for same TH matching, so u get similar or lower level to bully

Stopping engineering is not a matter of stopping people for playing the way they want to, it is giving advantage back to people with BALANCED bases. Not necessarily max... but BALANCED. I've never seen any justification of someone getting an advantage because they chose not to build something.

Perhaps the best definition yet, of an engineered base. Is simply gaining an advantage by choosing not to build or upgrade something (namely a defense).

Agreed, that's why I try not to overgeneralize people. Some have good intentions, others not so much.

Perm max townhalls are at a disadvantage. They're more likely to meet a .5 or full blown engineered account.

Why u dont just upgrade to TH10, or TH11, not just staying at PERMA TH9, keep complaining and asking SC to give you back the advantage

Well actually it may be, depending on your offence strength. With just one th9 war army comp maxed to th9 levels a max 9 defence is a fair enough target. The problem with big th9s (not necessarily max, far less permamax) in war, in some lineups more than others, is they will be facing 9.5s, and variations on infernoless 10s, and small 10s with infernos (rushed or not) rather more often than they face other 9s. Very good attackers will cope, while a great many have more modest (but by no means poor) skills and will walk away feeling they have let the team down by giving up 3 stars in defence but only gaining 2 on offence too often, where they regularly 3 star max 9s given the too rare opportunity. That's the kind of thing that kills the fun of war for quite a few, seeing the base you have put so much work into at what is often said to be the most fun th level for war, struggling to hold your end up against those who want to be able to go for the easy way and bowler spam you flat.

I don't know what the answer is, I do know that too many people are saying that way has become unsatisfying to them, and that it's engineering detracting from the fun.

My biggest gripe is how cheap the warden is.

What if there was a group of max 8's, all they did is upgraded to 11 and got grand wardens, not touch anything else. All offense and defense (other then the grand warden) stay at level 8. Even if they matched a clan with some th9's they could still probably get 3 stars every shot with drags + warden. The advantage would be huge. It wouldn't cost them anything really.

I think that is the underlying issue that burns most people. Anybody can get a warden and there are no consequences. And the resulting power boost he brings to your attack is off the charts. He is not balanced or checked in any fashion.

Personally, If you go town hall 11, the troops by themselves are not that much of a factor to me. It's the addition of the warden that tips the bucket of unevenness. He is too much bang for a fraction of a buck.

So a totally maxed th9 asking to match with a th9, how many times will he match a same strength? Maybe less then 1% of the time, and 99% of the time he will face a lower th9 and it is not bullying?

You're splitting hairs, which is odd given the horrendous mess the MM is at the moment, and even more odd because you are an engineer yourself. Max defense 9's are quite common. 30/30 heroes offer very little defensive advantage over say, 20/20's. With a mediocre amount of attacking skill, level 10 walls shouldn't be a difference maker over level 9's. You're getting carried away.
