Dorsan just started a killer thread, in sure hes given maxers a little buff somwhere, but i cant see were yet and it looks like a really interesting idea.

This is very true but applies to both sides of the debate. Any clan that's competitive, puts together a decent group with decent attacking ability, can start rocking 15+ win streaks. When the snap comes, they haven't lost for a full month and that's long enough to forget how to take it gracefully, and they've got at least 23 hours to stew about it until the next war starts. Victory has become the natural order of the universe, and deviation is clearly the work of sinister forces.
We see the same attitude from engineers constantly too, especially the ones in the closet. I recall one particularly long-winded gentleman who rage-quit war when he could no longer rely on winning war on prep day. And I've gotten into several very long, very heated threads where someone complaining about those damn engineers turns out to be running lots of very heavy .5s. Their fury at the matchmaker failing to always provide them with an edge is surpassed only by their anger when someone points out their top base with a level 20 warden but no eagle.
But yes the fact that a non-engineered clan can run a 90% green log is evidence that the MM isn't as broken as many think.
We are in the same boat OP. Fingers crossed this issue is addressed in the next update. IMO a townhall with maxed out offense (regardless of defenses) should be matched with at least a mid level townhall of the same level. This would allow 0.5 to a point to assist with growing pains of a new TH but not the blatant MM exploitation of defenseless bases.
If you assume perfect matching is possible, that works and I don't see any excuse for SC to not do it. But given a limited pool of warring clans, base diversity, roster diversity, and strange game mechanics that follow from stapling a cooperative war game to a solo tower defense game, I think they've got a big hairball on their hands trying to balance everything.
I agree. I have heard the Super Cell is going to address the engineered bases in the big update coming. Can someone from SC let us know if this is true? I have not accepted engineered accounts in my clan. Trying to stay balanced. It would be nice for SC to let us know so we can adjust accordingly.
exactly this, if perfect maching is possible no need to bring the townhall into it, if its not possible, bringing the townhall in gives perma maxers huge advantage, and since the pool is even smaller, the mismatches will be very severe.
Iether perfect matching is possible, in which case it will occur faster without townhall limiters, or its not and then townhall limiters simply buff maxers. Which for many of those who like the system is the point.
the equivalent would be if offensive rushed engineeres said, hey, lets use defensive strength st the first matching criteria, lets first ensure the in lane match has defence no more than 3% higher or lower than my own! Then we match on offence, but we match very close so it wont mean engineered get an advantage, wink.
come on guys.
Why is it logical to base a bases defence and offence ability, and with it assing it a weighting, based on something which has no dps, and very few hitpoints considering the village as a whole. Why not base the weighting on the told storages then? Or war stars? Or XP level?
