Help me remove people I am following.

I have written to support about 6 times on this issue. I get the same no answer each reply. Here is the issue. I can follow 20 people total. Some are Facebook real friends some are just people on Facebook, most are just people I tap the bookmark to follow that sell good items. I must mention that Facebook will not even connect since the last update so I cannot see my real friends. They tell me to unfriend them on Facebook. The problem is I tap on the farm and there is no bookmark there to unfollow them. How can I unfollow Them? It doesn't work to hold it down all that does is take me to the farm. They are just people from the paper. They will however let me invite them to my neighborhood. It's like the game thinks they are Facebook friends, they are not. Any ideas? Thanks

Just a question to make sure. These friends what color border do they have on the friends bar ?
Blue or yellow or green ?

They have yellow borders.

Did you try to tap and hold their avatar in the followers tab? The box outline should turn red with an "x" in the top corner, tap the "x" and then confirm?

You can also look in your Friend Book and see if you can unfollow from the different tabs

If they have yellow borders then you aren't following them otherwise they'd have blue borders.

The basic rule to removing a friend is to remove them from the place where you added them in the first place.

If you added the friend through Facebook then you need to remove them through Facebook.
If you've added them through GC you'd need to remove them through GC (note that removing individual friends from GC is no longer possible and it's either a choice between removing all or none)
if you've added a friend through the friend book you need to remove them through the friend book.
If you're following people and they have a blue border you can unfollow in the same way you followed them.
If people are following you you can delete then from the followers tab

All of that said. You can use the friend book to hide friends which you've added in various places.
To hide Facebook and GC friends go to the friend book. Click on the tab "other friends" you can hide particular friends from there.
However hiding doesn't remove them. You won't see them but they can still see you.
