NEW PLAYER ?s

​Let's get this out of the way 1st: I'm a 55 yr. old grandmother of 2yr. old triplet girls. I'm a relatively smart, educated woman, but I am so behind the curve on "gaming" and technical jargon.


i am so sorry if I am posting these concerns in the wrong area. If I am, or there is a better place to ask the questions, please help an old woman out! LOL.






1) I've seen these, DD, BEM, LEM, SEM, and other acronyms mentioned in posts, for what do they stand?




2) When a player, such as myself, goes to another farm and sees the "!," which I understand indicates "help" is needed, if I help them, are the resources used to help their farm deducted from my farm's resources?




3) I feel like I'm "spinning my wheels" because I don't seem to be gaining materials, levels, coins, and diamonds quickly. I have lost diamonds several times; I think because I accidentally touch the "lightening" button. I feel like I'm "buying" what's available in the "market," but I'm placing, feeding, harvesting, creating, loading the truck, collecting the coin, and then starting all over....getting no where quickly. I've been playing for about 3 weeks, but I'm only at Level 22, with 10,700 coins, (the only reason it's this high is because of the "Doubling Event"), 3 diamonds, and 1 voucher. I REFUSE to "buy" coins/diamonds, etc. with real US $ currency. I watch all the "movies" (ads) to collect diamonds. I can't increase my silo past 125, or my barn past 100 because I'm missing "parts," so I have to sell items to make room. Any suggestions? I couldn't find a "players manual" to find these answers.


I honestly appreciate any help that anyone might lend.

1.
DD stands for daily dirt. That's the newspaper you can buy stuff from
BEM stands for Barn expansion materials. Like bolts, planks and duct tape
SEM. Is silo expansion materials like screws nails and wood panels
LEM. Is land expansion materials. Like deeds, mallets, and stakes

2. Yes when you help someone, the stuff comes out off your stock, but you get money and points for it.

3. You DO NOT HAVE to buy diamonds with real money. I never buy virtual money in any game. As far as your level, that's not bad. I am where I am because I have no life. I play this game way too much. Don't tell anyone but I woke up in the middle of the night, made sure my husband was asleep , grabbed my ipad and proceeded to send Tom off to buy some shovels. Lol. There is a post here that has a lot of tips but unfortunately it is not stickied to the top or linked to in the guide post. I emailed it to myself and will try to figure out how to link to it. But I prefer to level up more slowly because the higher you go, the more complicated it gets. I even tried to start over,but this game doesn't allow for that without wiping your device. Also a lot of us accidentally lose diamonds due to clumsy fingers. There are techniques for avoiding that by not collecting them if you can untill you need them or as I do, spending them ASAP by adding slots on your dairy or sugar machine. So don't feel bad about that. That's why I will never buy any.

If you need coins, it is best to sell in your shop, if you need XPs, it is best to run trucks. I bought almost nothing from others when I was at lower levels. Concentrate on making items that you find sell well at max price.

To get more expansion materials be sure to harvest your crops regularly There is a procedure called "wheating", where you repeatedly plant and harvest wheat (or another crop actually) and then immediately put it up for sale in your shop at a great price just so you can get expansion items. You may need to concentrate on one type of expansion at a time, and you can trade others on the trading thread for whatever you need, just know that BEM is much more valuable than SEM and LEM-- check trading ratios in old posts!!

Oh, and look in your white house, that is a list of achievements, when you accomplish them, you are rewarded with diamonds. I recommend doing captain and turbo trucker achievements soon before you have many more items that your boats and trucks will ask for, for more info see the links in my signature!

(Just so you know, I have never bought diamonds... and many other high level players haven't either!! And I am also "granny aged".)

I am new to this community and often find myself as an outsider on the forum. I am 40 and like you I am well educated and smart woman, mother of two girls. Add me in GC and I will be happy to help your farm and your boats.
It is really difficult to play at start when you are tight with barn and silo space, and when every coin matter. My advice is add as many friends as you can to open more crates at your shop, sell your fast growing crops at default price, apples and berries at max, there are always someone who needs them Produce diary and sugar non-stop and if you don't need them for your shop sell a small quantities for max or help friends during double coins event.
well I might add some more advices but these are some basics. Good luck and enjoy game.

You have a bit of an advantage because not many players have the movies which will give them diamonds, so just that alone will help you expand your slots etc faster than others can.

avoid levelling up until you get a bit of money behind you because levelling up just requires you to buy more equipment! So sell in your shop, post free ads to do that. If you want to sell quickly find the items that take awhile to grow, or just sell them for a little below the maximum price.

apart from that, enjoy the game! There's no rush to get to any particular point, except the pressure you out on yourself.

1) When I sell my crops/items for the "max" price, how do I determine the "max"? When i have placed items for sale, it already has a quantity and price listed. Will the game automatically give me the lowest price? I have increased some items, like pumpkins, which took a long time to produce, but I'm not sure about a "max" price.

2) I used "Tom" 3-5 times when I was in a pinch, but now, "Tom" seems to have gotten a little too big for his britches!! LOL
He wants 15 diamonds for 1 day, 60 for 5 days, and 100 diamonds for 10 days. First of all, I only have 3 diamonds, second of all, "Tom" doesn't have a Phd. in "go-fering" as far as I know, so that's ridiculous!

3) I do not have a boat because I can't earn the 16,000 to repair the dock...so no boat????

4) Other posts mentioned stacking the "crafted" items next to the "machine" to save barn space, but I can't keep mine from going into storage, nor put anything else into the machine without collecting. Any idea how to do this?

5) I've been selling lots of items to the characters that show up on the farm because they usually offer more coins for them. Do y'all find this too be true?

6) I have the "text" below on my forum page. What do they mean, as in do I need to change something in my profile? This is way too technical for me!

1) your max price is determined by pressing the plus button on the right of the price when you put the item up for sale, until it increases no further. You can decrease or increase quantities, it will automatically put up half of what you have, maximum is 10, by using the negative or plus buttons either side of the quantity.

2) I don't use Tom, but many do. He''s only really self-funding after you have a mine, shelters and jewellery maker, as he can help you mine for diamonds to reimburse his cost.

3) Yes, it takes time to earn money to pay for the dock, but you will get there..... And everything else needs to be saved up for too. Produce and sell as much as you can, and earn as much as you can before levelling up.

4) you can only stack up stock if your barn is full, then you can carry on producing goods and it will stack up at the machines. In order to be utilised however, they need to go into the barn first.

5) I think the reason you think the customers offer more money is because you haven't been maximising your prices in the shop. You will find maximum prices give a higher yield.

6) Don't know!! Too technical for me too.

7) You need to be registered in Game Center and request friends through there, using their GC names.

I'm still confused on the stacking. After the item has been placed in the barn and my barn is at maximum, how do I then take the item out of the barn to stack it?

Stacking is not really the correct term. Storing is really what happens. All it means is when your barn is full you can continue to produce goods. The items will just "stack or store" next to the machine. And all that Jargon about code html etc. it looks like you were not logged onto the forum.

You can't stack items already stored in the barn. However, if needs be, you can still continue to produce items in machines when the barn is full and they will stay 'stacked' next to the machine when they are made until there is space in the barn. If you don't need to use a machine, if you don't tap an item it will stay next to the machine until you put more on to be made.
