New Building Permit Requirement for Expansion SUCKS

You know, I don't even want to THINK about how much real cash money I spend on Hay Day every year. As much or more than my kids used to play on World of Warcraft subscriptions, to be certain. If I did a search on my bank records, I'd probably have to stop playing out of embarrassment.

And now they have brought us a new item to make expanding even harder, and certainly guaranteed to generate more revenue for the developers.

I guess I'll just have to start being a slower, more patient farmer. Because I am so over spending more money on Hay Day than I do on lattes in a month.

As if all of the other new upgrades weren't enough - this building permit was over the top, and such a blatant "give us more money" demand.

I think I'll like the boosters, although I have only seen one that wasn't "TOM" so far.

You cannot buy the permits, unless I am missing something?

I think you're right.
Although there is an option to buy the lems with diamonds there isn't one to buy the permits.

Im thinking the permits were implemented so that high level players wouldn't just breeze through all the expansions and then start asking for more land again or something new.
I kind of like the the way that special land looks, even still locked.

You can buy the red box with diamonds. Majority seem to be locked.

I guess if you are keen on opening every red tool box with diamonds and every treasure chest also, you MIGHT get a few of the special permits. Personally, I don't spend diamonds on those.

I'm with you Sparkly, I love the way the land looks even though it is locked. And will be for quite some time.

Advice no one asked for, is to realize there is no finish line in HayDay. No hurry to get to a higher level or open up new land. Manage you farm well and it will all come.

Permits required for the new land expansions are great! Now it actually takes gameplay to earn them. Those who purchase Deeds, Mallets, and Stakes (or Land Sets as they're called) from "Izzet Can" or other dealers won't be able to expand easily and quickly. Unless they find a way to retail Permits. Now time for me to go back to wheating unless I'm a buyer... **wink wink**

There is one "reliable" way to "buy" permits. I've used it. A permit was one of the items on the WoF a couple of days ago, and I used diamonds to buy extra spins until I got one. Fortunately, it was a particularly good wheel that day--I got a booster, 2 gold stars for coins, a spin again, and a pair of fuzzy chaps. I believe I only spent 6 diamonds. Whenever the ditch shows up on my wheel, I use the same method to get a "bargain". I'll spend up to a total of 6 diamonds to get one, and it has worked. (The ditches cost 8 diamonds in the shop.)

That being said, I'm fine with the permits placing a rein on farm expansion. As much as I want some of the new decos on the special plots, I can wait. As the OP noted, "I guess I'll just have to start being a slower, more patient farmer."

I personally think the main reason Hay Day implemented the permits is because they want to slow the expansion down as more land isn't going to happen for a while now. Which is fine by me.

I agree. I am loving the permits! It slows things down and makes me decide which spaces to open next. I am enjoying it thoroughly! I am also enjoying being excited about LEMs again! ;)

I think the reason is to get the newbies excited about expanding, hoping they purchase diamonds.
Most probably will because they have a lot to open up & LEMs are scarce.
