Is it just me but the red boxes don't seem to be appearing on my farm but appear on friends
I rarely see them on my farm, so to me it's pretty normal!
Just got one on my farm with a permit in it! Yay! My first. So they do still exist.
Quite a few of us have noticed that there are fewer boxes on our farms now. Harrumph.
...is that actually correct though, or do we just want them more, therefore FEEL there are fewer of them? I'm not sure ��

No changes has been made to the mystery boxes, except we added more items to be found in them.

It's not very scientific, and there are gaps for work, life and sleep ;-)
But my method is this: I never use diamonds. Whenever I am on HD I look for boxes and whenever I find one, I go looking for all the other three. Here's what I have found:
69 boxes found in total. 11 opened to reveal a prize (3 boosters, 2 coins, 2 axes, 1 x 5 diamonds, 1 dynamite, 1 TNT, 1 shovel). An open rate of 16%, or 1 in every 6.2 boxes.
Red boxes on other farms are the most numerous (30 boxes = 43%)
followed by neighbours town boxes (19 boxes = 28%)
followed by my own red box (16 boxes = 23%)
and last my own town box (4 boxes = 6%)
The time interval between boxes found seems to be random (unless it is dependent on what else I'm doing on the farm?). Around 20-30 minutes seems to be pretty common, but I have had a couple as low as 3-5 minutes.
And I did find an Expansion Scroll before I started recording, that's what started me off.
