I sent Tom for an item and when he came back I click none so he would go back and hopefully have more. Usually he sleeps for like 2 minutes and then I can send him back but this time he went to sleep for 2 hours! Have they made a change and I missed it?
Dunno but will be good to know as I'm not sending him back to sleep if so.
This was an unwanted change, but instead he will always find the best deal on the market (max amount). So in theory there's no need to put him on a nap unless you by mistake chose a wrong item to look for.

Unfortunately this is a known issue and not an intended change.
As a workaround one of his offers will always bring back 9 of whatever you ask for.
One thing is important though. Make sure you send him for the correct item you actually want and don't change your mind halfway through expecting a 2 minute nap.
This can only be properly fixed through a mandatory update which will be the next regular update. Until then Tom will have this workaround.

What happened to Tom’s 3 minute cooldown when you choose none of the items? I accidentally sent Tom on an errand to find Honey Apple cakes when what I needed was fruit cakes, and of course I didn’t need honey apple cakes, and so I said told him none of them, and now he’s resting for 2 hours instead of 3 minutes!

Tom will now bring you 9 of whatever you request and then take a two hour nap. No more two minute nap if you decline his offer. This is the "new normal" (or at least for the time being).
Either they tweaked Tom or I am having a run of good luck. Every single order brings a 9 quantity. 10th order now.
