I'm not happy about the amount of marker stakes, pallets and land of deeds needed to unlock new expansion
That is a shame - just takes a lot of persistence - I have opened all the normal non permit expansion have a look at my farm
I agree with you and please don't pay any attention to those who post sarcastic and belittling replies.
It is ridiculous, these updates are hyped up with sneak peek after sneak peek and then (after a myriad of updates) we are then left bereft as we can't do much with the land expansions/special land expansions which is what everyone has been waiting for. I have given up with it, gone are the days when I would scour the newspaper endlessly, harvest incessantly and beg for LEMs so I could get land. No fun in it and that's what takes the enjoyment out of the game IMO.
I have enjoyed the boosters so far and the deco's we received but the land aspect is a non-entity for me. Just wish I didn't have to look at it if we don't want to waste our lives trying to get it.
LEMs will be widely available after those of us at high levels have opened the land requiring permits!
i always hold 500 of ea piece. As soon as I get permits, I'll sell off.
andfyi, my sister used 300 diamonds opening red boxes in hopes of getting permits & found none. But, she did get some other items she desired.
You can't sell/trade permits 😔
True, but I think Gertie was talking about the eventual availability of LEMs (deeds, stakes, mallets) which always happens when high-level players who have massive barns and have been able to stockpile them finish expanding and begin selling in the paper. I don't have a massive barn, but everyone in my neighborhood and among my friends was fully expanded for ages, so I always advertised any LEMs I got. Of course, that won't happen for a while now. The best bet for now is the trading thread or trading among friends and neighbors.
Personally, I'm delighted that it will take a long time to fully expand and that some of it isn't possible to accomplish with diamonds. It gives high-level players who have exhausted other challenges something to work on. So far nobody in my NH has any permits. I expect that whenever someone gets enough for a plot, we'll all pitch in LEMs to get that plot open. In the past, whenever we all contributed to a plot, we would all gather at the lucky farm to watch the butterfly display. Looking forward to that!
Yes, it's pretty horrifying to contemplate the number of LEMs I'll need to open just one plot, but it's also horrifying to contemplate the number of XP I need for my next level (600K+) and the probable cost of whatever that new feature indicated by the stump, pallet and crossing sign in town will be. I'm fine with all of it--something to work for!
I get the disappointment, but I'm not sure why this has come as a surprise to anyone. The old land plots across the road were hard to unlock with up to 39 of each LEM needed, and on the main farm, the further towards the end you got, the more LEMs it seemed to take to unlock a plot. So maybe I'm just cynical, but I didn't expect there to be any new plots that could easily be unlocked with 6 LEMs each or something like that. I was actually pleasantly surprised to see that there are a couple that only take 20 of each LEM and in case of the special plots, there's one plot that only takes 1 special permit! Maybe I really am a cynic. :) I also like how there's a choice between normal and special plots in two different areas, so if we don't want to keep waiting for special permits, we can just focus on the new plots on the main farm for now.
So I'm not trying to dismiss anyone's annoyance because I really do get it, but it was kind of a given that SuperCell would make it quite difficult with this new land, if that makes sense?
I'm happy with the land expansion and what it requires. Yes, new machines/products are great but once you get to a high level you need something to sustain you for an extended period of time. So, i'm just fine with waiting to open a new area and thinking of ways to set up a new farm!
It makes the LEM relevant as derby and special event prizes again and it gives me a new goal to work on. I'm pleased as punch! :)
