Ooh, I like this. That's some out of the box thinking. I think downvotes would still be better and less confusing in the long run though. Just because I'm on vacation for two weeks and don't hop on the forum, I don't think my rep should take a heavy hit for that. Reputation per post count would be a better than reputation per time. 30 rep/100 posts or something like that is more sensical to me than 30 rep/week.Quote:

Lol, I agree, but I suspect they will give it a 30 day trial like the first 30 day trial. One advantage for the mods I'm sure is they aren't getting complaints/reports about undeserved downvotes. I hope they bring the downvote back but perhaps only respond to complaints/reports about multiple undeserved downvotes, like a group of people ganging up unfairly on someone. The reporting of a single undeserved downvote must be a lot of useless work for the mods.Quote:

And like yourself i visited members that were posting threads about unjust multi neg repping and I just couldn't see it.
1st 2 days and like there were some but after that it was basically non existent UNLESS 2 neg reps on 1 post was classed as MASS.
I sincerely hope they bring it back before day 30 or scrap the whole dam thing.. Mods at present seem to be having to deal with a lot more toxicity now than they did when neg rep was here. Showing that without it the whole FRS is useless
This is honestly not a good change. Everyone's rep is just going to go up and will be the same.

I rarely used the downvote in the first trial month, yet every day now I'm seeing threads started that deserve downvotes and posts that also deserve downvotes. Maybe if we had the downvote I still would rarely use it, but I feel like I'm missing it these last couple weeks. It is sort of like that thing you don't appreciate until it's gone.
If you keep up-voting people that deserve it they in turn will create more replies and post that are reader worthy. I am afraid the down vote will dissuade people from further writing even though they had some good replies or posts. Honestly, I feel we can freely write without having a monkey on our back.
