How to become a better attacker ?

Well yes it might be late to become a three stars attacker and learn this late in the game (th9) but I'm really tired of being so inconsistent in my war attacks: sometimes i get 6 stars 3 wars in a row, then I barely get 2 stars on each of my attacks.

I'm the top player in my clan, so I have to be able to three star the other tops, I can't opt out because there wouldn't be anyone else to beat the other tops since our other th9 are rushed ( nearly max defences for th9 but th8 troopes).

Imma be honest here, I was always a farmer, I hit th9 a month and a half ago with just 150 war stars, since I didn't war half of th7 and all of th8, which I admit was a mistake since you start getting the basics for the hybrid attacks in th8. I already built the xbows and my new defences are already the same level as the others ( max th8 ) so there is no going to .5 route now my queen is lvl 11 and i upgraded ballons, giants, hogs, jump , and now upgrading lightning.

But my IRL friends decided to start a new war clan and invited me. They are mostly th6, th7, and two th9s. So I don't want to miss the excitment of war but I've never been a war guy. So i want to learn how to 3 star, I know i won't learn within a night.

I'm good with dragons, and I do really good with lavaloon, except max bases. But I'm horrible with ground attacks ,for example, my hogs always vanish with the blink of an eye even under heal spells and they are level 5.
So what should I do to learn ? I have a new th8 if I have to go back to the basics.

Have you upgraded your valks to lvl 4? At this point in the game, it seems that valks are pretty central to most strong ground attacks, especially when attacking max or close to max Th9s. If you can't lavaloon or golaloon because of a base's layout, I think GoWiVa or GoVaHo are probably the strongest attacks these days. Once you get your queen up to 20, you can add a queenwalk to GoWiVa and it's a powerful attack. I'd suggest practicing these different attack strategies against other TH9s in your clan and see which style works best for you. Every attack style has a different rhythm and pace to it, and you need to find the ones that work for you. The truth is that it's hard being at the top of the map; it sounds like you are doing just fine.

This part about valks being used is quite wrong as per me. The most important troops are Golems, Hogs, Balloons and hounds

Focus on them and heroes, watch a few videos from some known YTers like PB, Clash wit Ash, Judo, etc.
And watch war recaps from CWL clans and many more, they help a lot

^This. Valks aren't the meta anymore. Personally I haven't been three starred by GoWiVa in months. It seems that once they are confronted with high level walls their punch isn't as good at lvl4.

Again, 46 days into th9.
My two recent wars:
I) 75% 1 star with Goho, Maxed base
100% with QueenPop
II) 72% 1 star GoHo, Nearly maxed base except some canons
100% with GoHo
I think I can 3 star most of my oponents with queen pop, it's so powerful. But im not consistent, I get the 3rd star in the last 20sec even thou its supposed to be a fast attack and sometimes I don't get enough time to clean up.
But it doesn't work with every single base since most people are building anti air bases and I'm not that skilled to work around them :p and I'm often matched with maxed bases at the top, so I need to learn other attacks :/

Dont expect 3*s on max bases with those troops :D get them to decent levels

You can do Pentaloon against bases that have a certain setup. Next things to level would be:
- Healer and wizards for HGBH (only if you have a TH10 in the clan who can donate Bowler).
- Lavahound to improve air capabilities.
- Golem for ground and air.

Since Pentaloon as not always usable and you might not have access to Bowlers I would level Golems for GoHo.

PS: I am TH9 and there are very few bases you cannot get down with L10+ heroes using Pentaloon or HGBH.

I too use Queen Pop but ran into bases in war tonight that I could not crack. First war in 9 wars where I didn't three star. This clan built anti air bases and they worked well. Gotta focus on balancing with ground attacks now.

No strategy is supposed to 3* every base. Govawi and govaho especially might 3* a pot of bases but there is a chance that they will fail more as the bases become compartmental
I personally love gobo laloon, not a Queen Pop fan, goboho and hghb is great too :) haven't tried the witch slap or atomic strike but yeah mix and match as per the base
