To boost my barracks, spell factory, and heroes it costs me 55 gems. For one hour, its just not worth it. I haven't boosted since they changed the pricing(other than boosting heroes occasionally). If they set the length of boosts back to 2 hours, it would be worth it for me(and others in my clan who are former boosters) to do again. It's just not worth it now.
The 5 gems per barrack/factory are still in effect for 1 hour of boost.. you just can't avoid boosting "All barracks" and as such, you can't select to only boost the production of dark or elixir troops for an hour.
In essence, previously it was possible to boost by 25, 50, 75 and 100% on elixir troops and 50% and 100% on dark troops, which gave an easier pricing and a cheaper perceived price.
After the introduction of the new training queue system we only have one choice, equivalent to boosting all 4 elixir and both dark barracks at the same time .. hence the 30 gem price tag. (you are essentially wasting 10gems, if you are not using dark troops or 20 gems, if you are not using elixir troops..so, using mixed armies is a good idea)
I agree that a bit of extra flexibility in barrack boosting is probably needed .. maybe a split in elixir and DE troop boosting?
What you are suggesting OP, is essentially a 50% reduction of boost cost, which probably isn't going to be the right way to handle the situation.

How often have you seen clanmates running a boost session of late? It never happens in either of my clans or with any of the people I talk to in other clans. It used to happen almost nightly for me and those around me. The cost is outrageous. They could rework the cost, individual buildings being boosted, or just set the boost time back to 2 hours. 55 gems for a two hour boost is still a pretty hefty price IMO, but I'd be much more willing to boost and would probably use it more than never, which is how often I boost now.
A better solution would be to allow scaled boosting. For example: 2x, 3x or 4x at proportionate costs instead of simply 4x.
This would be more flexible, suit casuals who may not have 2 hours for a session and return costs to something similar to past boosting.
Additionally, differential boosting of heroes, sf and barracks would allow better chances to synchronize finish times.
different queue for normal and dark barracks would work great, just like we have for spell factory and barracks, so it wont force you to boost other barrack, plus giving different speed option to boost for different gems would be great, so in 10 gems we get 2x boost and 20 gems gives 4x boost for normal barracks, similarly for other things, but seems like sc is not in mood to change this

I understand the no heroes in war. It's a good way to get people to use gems. My argument against boosting is I don't think people are boosting nearly as much as they used to.Quote:

I boost all the time as well and I absolutely love that they dropped it to an hour. Sometimes I would start a boost and realize I couldnt last the whole two hours from being tired. It's great the way it is.
What they need to do, is lower the regeneration time of heroes. THAT is outrageous. It almost limits you to 5 or 6 raids for the hour. And they need to reduce the cost of the CC gem. 23 gems for 9 minutes is ridiculous. Make it an amount that people would be tempted to do... especially when sometimes the CC gets laggy and you dont receive your troops, which has been happening frequently over the past couple weeks.

They probably found that most people were only boosting one or two barracks at a time and decided to adjust the price upwards and the change in the training system was a good time to test it out.
Since the price hasn't gone back down, its possible that more people are boosting now then previously despite this echo chamber that exists here on the forum where no one boosts ever.
I still do my daily boost, just like I did before the update. It's even better though since instead of having to play for 2 hours straight to not waste the gems, I can split it into segments and if I want to do a second boost, then I can. I used to fall asleep with 30-45 minutes left of my boost prior, but now if I'm too tired then I can just do it separately. I never really understood why people would only boost certain barracks and not all of them, but barching dead bases I find boosting it all (maybe not spells) is the quickest way to increase profit. You are only wasting time trying to cheap out on it. The change isn't that bad. Stop complaining about something that happened ages ago and learn to adjust like everyone else has.
While I can see the appeal of keeping the boost the same, but extending for 2 hours, why not just request for it to be cheaper for 1 hour?
Paying for 1 hour of boost clearly is superior than having to pay for 2 hours of boost
It certainly is expensive. I'm farming right now which means lots of boosting. My army is composed of elixir troops and elixir spells and yet, I'm forced to pay the price to boost my 2 dark barracks and my dark spell lab.Quote:
