You know you're a little crazy when...

You don't want to open the free diamond present for maintenance because it will mess up the even number of diamonds you have achieved...

You refuse to harvest any tree or bush that will die unless you have the required axe/saw to get rid of it immediately...

You were really upset about the fishing boat because you had to mess up your careful landscaping in order to access it...

You feel like the world is out of w♥♥♥♥ when you have less than 20 of each sugar...


This is just a few of my Hay Day obsessions. Am I the only one who has these issues?

I do the even number thing with animal food especially. It always has to be in a multiple of 3. If I buy food from Greg I sell 2 of them because 5 is not a multiple of 3 and it drives me nuts.

I think this game attracts people with OCD, and indeed, it requires a certain degree of OCD to play it well.

My thing is that I have to have all of the animals fed at all times. It bothers me too much to see them looking skinny and unhappy. Yes, I know it is not real, and that no animals are actually hungry.

I also have to NEVER have hungry animals, so always have 2 lots of food for each animal. I also NEVER sell axes and saws because I couldn't have a dead tree or bush!!! Oh dear...........;)

1. It isn't OCD, it's ♥♥♥♥ retentive - there's a difference - which only someone ♥♥♥♥ retentive would point out :D

2. The don't harvest the last harvest until you can remove the dead wood thing is just logic. I saw a farm where a guy obviously pays no attention to it, and from a maintenance standpoint, he's almost out of room for anything because his farm is covered with dead bushes.

3. I don't know what level my barn will need to be before I can keep 2 sets of feed for all animals at all times, but I can tell you that I'm nowhere near it yet at barn = 300 :). I recommend starting a fresh game on another device so you can recall what it's like to harvest a 4x4 patch of wheat and have it fill your silo hahaha.

My ♥♥♥♥ retentiveness comes from trying to determine accurate stock levels for my barn space. I spend time considering how much sugar, cream, butter, ProductX to keep on hand. (Sigh - yes, I confess it's always an even number lol)

I don't sell anything at maximum price (feels mean to overcharge) and can only sell items in my store for a price ending with 0 or 5. I will round down to -10/-15/-20 of maximum price to reach the target. I also don't like to harvest my bushes or trees and prefer to buy all of my berries/fruit rather than risk having shabby, dead vegetation. But perhaps the most OCD thing I do in regards to HD is my never-ending quest to find bolts...<sigh>.

I just found 5 diamonds in a mystery chest and spent them immediately so I would be back to my even diamond number

Lol I do same. If you see my farm I have 12 chickens, 9 cows, 9 pigs, 9 sheeps and 3 goats :D
if I buy from Greg for example 5 cow feed because my feed maker is making goat feed, then I only take out milk of 5 cows. Other remain same until all milk is ready again :)

That stinks. I have had it go for days straight where almost every chest has coins but not more than a week.

I also like to have an even number of items in my barn too....lol..

1. It bugs me when the number of my silo/barn capacity are not even, like 775 for example, or 725. I'm dying to make it 750 or even 800.
2. I need to have my plants in group of 5. So when there's only space for 4 bushes, for example, I'll try find a way to add the other one.
Can't think anything yet atm, perhaps will add later :)

I don't know about OCD, But I have Aspergers and things have to be ordered properly and this game allows me to do it. And as for feeding the animals. my fifteen year old who doesn't even play, gets mad at me if I can't feed one of the sheep because they look so pitiful all shivering like they are actually cold. She's like the hungry chickens who lay there like they are dead, but keep lifting up their little heads to check on you. "feed me Seymore"

Oh dear I do that as well!

I have OCD. These are the things that irk me:

When you get a new decorating idea and have to redo you whole farm (at least most of it) to make sure everything is even and looks just right.

how the decorations don't have even amounts of space on each side of them.

when you don't have enough crop plots to make a perfect rectangle.

when you have that 1 extra shop slot and have to spend 5 diamonds to fix it... Or it doesn't feel right.

I do that too! My fingers fumble and add a spot for 5 diamonds then I always have to buy another one. I try not to but within an hour or 2 I am so bothered by it I shell out the extra 5 diamonds.

Today was my lucky day! Found gold voucher in a toolbox, gold voucher off a boat order free diamonds from a dirty board? 5 diamonds on friends farm. 5 diamonds another friends farm. Yep, that is me. I have 30 of each axes and saws and cannot stand it when I have more but when I start cutting I only go to around 25 and start buying the fruits/berries so I don't have to use up my saws/axes. Have to keep the number between 25-30.

I will not fill a boat crate until the items in the production line make-up the numbers I usually keep of that item. For example, I keep 5 pizzas. Let's say I have the 5 pizzas to fill a crate asking for 2, well if I cannot make the pizza at that time I will not fill the crate until I put 2 in the bakery oven even if I have the 5 in my barn.

I will most likely not produce an item unless I can also produce what is needed to produce it (even when I have it in the barn). For example, I will not produce carrot cake if I cannot produce the one brown sugar and the one butter. I would have the brown sugar and the butter in the barn but I like producing the cake together with its ingredients to make sure I replace the ingredients (you know, to keep the numbers where I want them).

Last thing, not going over the numbers is very important because I HATE it when I get too close to filling barn/silo. The way I have my system now, my silo is around 340 even though the capacity is 475. The capacity of my barn is 825 but with my system I keep the number at a very manageable 660. I am already accounting for the soon to come candy machine and all its products and I am planning to add 5 of each candy item, which makes a total of 25 additional permanent items in my barn. After the candies make a permanent home, my barn will be at 685 with 825 capacity. Because of this I sell all my SEMs, LEMs, and BEMs.

Very obsessive but EFFICIENT 😀😊

I'm not sure if anyone will remember this, I admited it a long time ago- but my obsessive need in this game is carrot pies. I have to have 20 in my barn. All. The. Time.

*sigh

Something about those pies and their whipped cream peeks just does something for me. I've tried everything to get over it cause they are just carrot pies! And really- how many boat/truck orders do we see for carrot pies?

LOL- carrot pies must be a Finnish thing yes- I've never really had one. But I love carrot cake and who can resist those whipped cream peaks? Something about how they look just got me hooked!

1st thing in the morning:

must harvest crops first, only those in my "working" garden unless I am really low on potatoes or indigo,
then I must tend my "working" animals,
followed by filling the feed machines back up. This is why I have to harvest first!
Then I must take care of my dogs, cats, and horses. Fill feed first, then whistle.
Then it is on to my dairy and sugar machines.

I have a thing for symmetry. I did break out of my mold and put in wildflower patches that are not symmetrical, but they still have to look just right.

This thread is cracking me up.

I have a few quirks myself but nothing as bad as some of you! No judgements tho.

I always have to have separated crops that are even, such as 9 crops in one square, separated by flowers or bushes or walls.

Yeah, same here. Having a number that is not a multiple of 3 really annoys me.

When I buy animals, I always have to have multiples of 3 (so I have 6 sheep, 6 pigs and 9 cows. Can't wait until I unlock that last paddock for all of them, then I can have 15 of each. Yay!)

I know this has been said before, but why can you only buy 8 horses??? And the stables hold 9???? I could only buy 6 (have 3 at the moment).......
