We interrupt this Derby (well, it interrupts MINE) to bring you a double coin visitor bonus event - WOO HOO!!

I have been working diligently these last 2 months to master the smoothie maker, hot dog maker, tea shop, Taqueria, and pasta kitchen. That means A LOT of tofu dogs, red smoothies, cloche hats (as always), fish tacos and gnocchi.

Now it's time to get them out of my barn and into the hands of the usually parsimonious farm visitors --YAHOOOO!!! And with only 6 free spots in the barn, this event arrives not a moment too soon.

I have on hand all the stuff I have been making as I work on masteries:

621 tofu dogs
513 red smoothies
410 cloche hats
231 milk tea
148 rice noodles
107 green smoothies
100 gnocchi
90 fish tacos

My barn -- OUCH!

I start at 17,958,745. I don't really have a money target today: it's mostly about clearing out the barn. But hey if I make a million or more, I will be very happy with that (and so will a certain particular Peachie). I also need a silo upgrade.

UPDATE 1015am: I got my silo upgrade!! Woo hoo

My first sales:

Lol. All my goods are divided in parts of ~ 10. :)

I just have loads of wheat and potatoes :) I sold already 8k gold :) That's the risk you take doing scorched earth :D

What I like most about this event is that you can participate at almost any level (shop opens at level 7 I think? Bots come around then too). You don't need an airplane-hangar barn and mega huge silo. All you need is a willingness to part with some stuff in order to keep what you want to sell top 3 of barn and silo.

And of course I have shoved all my saws axes and mining in the Peachie barn --

Today is a great day to wheat, make quick stuff to dump in the shop, and and just make coins.

As long as you are willing to keep wheat #1 in your silo, you can pile up the coins even if you buy wheat at max price from others. I made over 300K in one day only selling wheat and soybeans :) Remember you LOSE money buying full-price corn.

.....and I have literally no saws or axes left because I grew olives and apples for the visitors and coffee beans for espressos for the visitors.
Major wheating ahead to clear the dead wood.

Oh I'm still participating to the best of my abilities! I just get a teeensy bit jealous of people with 1000 of one product saved up :P

What is the frequency the visitors do come? I want setup an alarm to open the game once in a while...

Perky- Just one question came to mind when I read your post: How in the world do you have any room in your barn for anything else? All of the staples that we need? Milk, goat milk, sugars, bacon, bread, dairies, etc etc etc??? Or have you been keeping those items at a very low minimum? I'm super curious! :confused: :o

I tend not to keep more than a 5 of anything that I can easily buy in the paper: wool, eggs, goat milk, bacon, pumpkin pies, etc.

I do hold a PILE of dairy: I try to keep at least 50 of each dairy item and sugar, but only 25 syrups. I keep fewer than 10 of cakes and lies, then make a replacement when a townie asks for them. If I need bread, I make it.

This works well well for me because I don't do boats. I concentrate on the town, where the item demand is lower.

Would be really nice if the visitors actually asked for wheat, LOL

No kidding -- in between wheat sales this morning I've sold them lettuce, tea, soybeans and rice, but the last 8 visitors wanting silo stuff have asked for wheat :)

.......and then along comes Mike with this insult! He got the bums rush right off the homestead.

I thought I would play the game... I had a sugar cane task, so I thought I could dump the goods on them.


On the barn side, they only asked for things I had zero of and they wanted either my 2nd most voluminous (soy) or stuff I had zero of on the silo side.

I keep loads of the jelly beans for double coin peeps and truck events. But this math is way off that SC is offering.

40 beans @ 684 each full price retail in RSS would be 27,360. The offer from Mike and Joan (each) would be a loss of 13,696 coins.

I'm sure I posted in the last little people or the one before that with my super sales prices. Jelly beans were my TOP earners.

SO -- for what I have been selling today, it looks like there has been NO CHANGE in the event prices the visitors are offering for:

Red hats
Red Smoothies
Green Smoothies

BUT the prices have been steadily revised DOWN for the tofu dogs: from 529 coins each in Dec 2016 to 486 coins each in Jan 2017 to 436 coins each today.

Besta -- those jellybean prices look strangely low to me. I have never sold them jellybeans during a 2x coin event, so I have no benchmark of my own to provide. But now I wonder if the event prices have been revised downward for those too?

Hey Nick. Can you check into this for us please? The numbers are way off on this event. This is the fourth offer for jelly beans I have gotten and they have all been well below the normal offers.
Regular full price in RSS is 684 coins per jelly bean. DOUBLED coins in event only comes to 341.6 per jelly bean. That would mean on a daily basis the jelly beans would be 170.79 each to the little people. Pretty sure this is well below what the little people offer on a regular basis.

I took a screen shot of one of my tofu dog sales because it was such a perfect number;

223,322 for 422 tofu dogs. Which does work out to 529 each.

So Im puzzled at the discrepancies here.
Hope Nick or someone looks in to this.

Good: I just made my last sale to end up at 19,539,416. That looks like about 1.6M coins for me today!

Better: a silo upgrade, 1/3 of way to next silo upgrade, and 2/3 of way to a barn upgrade

Best: I started the day with 6 free spots in the barn, and I ended up with 2202 free spots.

I also wonder about the tofu dog and jelly bean discrepancies. :/

But now its time to rest a bit and get ready for more farming tomorrow.

What was YOUR good, better, and best from this event?

I just want to say thanks again Perky for flushing a bunch of junk out of the game. The less Tofu Dogs, Chili Popcorn, Cloche Hats, Berry Smoothies, Bacon & Eggs etc in circulation the better!

I'm mainly playing my own account [which is the mini] as I don't have much choice anymore, so have no major sales to boast with a smaller barn & silo. I love removing heaps of Eggs & Wheat at a great price though. :)

Good: Profit 2.4 million

Better: Doing 3 carrot tasks and having the visitors pay me double coins for them.

Even Better: Having such an abundance of eggs available in the paper during the event. I could easily replenish my stock of eggs up to 3000 or so within 3 or 4 editions of the DD. And the visitors seemed to have an endless appetite for them.

Still Better: Going from 4 free barn spaces at the beginning to 2080 free barn spaces at the end.

Best: Needing less than 10 of each expansion item for my next silo expansion.

I cant attest to flushing any tofu dogs or red hats out of the DD as everything I had was what I produced myself.
Easily sold my leftovers of both to someone who likely bought them for their own visitors.

Sorry that I missed this. Will report it to the team, but I recall that candy things have a price-capping.. not sure. Will let you know if I hear something!
