There are diffrent things you can do:
Start a youtube Channel adn hope you get sponsorship
Try get free gift cards via appbounty
Get famous
Stop using gems, cuz thats the way to go?
Convince a business that sponsoring you would be in their best interest.

if you can't effort gems, just don't use them.
can already see the papers: "Guy went broke on buying gems on Clash of Clans"
just be patient and farm ur way up. Join a nice clan, watch a movie or whatever to kill time.
