Players leaving in war because their clan leader doesn't get what he wants

When you post compliant threads on subjects that you (and you alone) enjoy complete authority over (like clan membership and war roster), then most experienced forum members will disagree.

If I treat my friends like they are performance junkies and have to do something to stay in the clan then what is that? That is bullying. That is not friendship.

If I am called toxic and they end the conversation then that is bullying because they are making a conclusion and I'm not allowed to say something because they've determined the end of the conversation and not allowed me to have an opinion because they've already decided the end.

If someone has an academic degree then that is not insulting. You are choosing to be insulted.

So many words and phrases misused to make a point.

Bullying and friendship are not mutually exclusive.

Academic qualifications are not insulting and I am not insulted by education (and never said that I was), but using them to lord over people without any reference to topic is insulting (and probably bullying).

Referring to people as kiddies without any knowledge of their actual status/age/education and only knowing they disagree is insulting and probably bullying.

Ending one side of a conversation is not bullying. Sometimes it's a sanity-safety valve.

Feel free to keep posting about you clan management and decision-making issues. Hopefully you might acknowledge they're yours to own and not SC's to fix. I am not posting again (and no not bullying you by ending my posts).

I have not had a guy leave during war in over a year, maybe 2, I actually cant remember our last case. Here are some rules that might matter...

Make all new members sit out a week. This means all with no exceptions. Its a test of their staying power and seriousness about wanting to be in your clan. If they leave because they dont like that or any other reason then they failed the test and you are better for them to be gone. If they beg just explain to them its a test. If they give you the proverbial "I promise I wont leave" just be glad to hear it but complete the test. If they act indignant saying they ALWAYs do both attacks in war thats just a strongarm tactic (truth: no one does, stuff happens. I have had mishaps happen to even me with my rigid attitude toward it) so just say you are glad to hear it but finish the test.

if you get a bunch of new guys all at once stagger their addition to war so you are never too exposed. Always have it be a very small percentage of first timers in a given war. Tell guys up front thats your policy and they might find themselves waiting in line, dont surprise them with that news after they have been waiting a week. Through the whole time from when they join you should be able to tell them accurately when they will be getting in and be able to stick to your word.

i notice that you did accept guys with war timers. Personally I dont. Period. I never even learn what the excuse or backstory is because I dont bother asking.

i also notice you sound like there is a struggle to say what needs to be said without being toxic. Thats a leadership skill and you do need to learn how or your troubles are forever. Its a style thing. Treat your clan mates like your partners not your underlings. Never cuss. If you have a guy that bristles even at kindly coaching you probably want to phase them out, there are indeed guys that cant be coached.

Also guys that are toxic I.E. they are constantly getting into fights with you or other members just kick. Dont get in the business too much of who's fault an argument is, you can avoid this by never kicking for just one argument. Instead note who has a pattern of being in a lot of them.

We don't put more than one new person into a war and only if they are th8 because we know missing their attacks won't matter. I don't just mean the "new" tag. Higher than th8 must be in the clan donating and active for awhile before we take to war. Reasonable adults who want a good clan understand and have no problem taking war off for a week. Impatient kids don't understand and they leave, usually with a curse word. We are glad to see them go.

War hoppers are going to happen. There have been dozens of threads about this and I don't want to plagiarize the wit and wisdom of others in identifying which ones are likely to hop.

But once again, do you notice all but one person in this thread has disagreed with you? Does that not mean anything?

If you ran your clan differently this would not happen. How is it possible that so many clashers can tell you this and you still don't see it? How?

Use clashofstats.com it let's you look up a player by IGN or by their player tag and shows when and how long they've been in a clan so you can see if they are a hopper.


P.S. I see a common theme among commenters on these forums after being on here for literally a day, and that is, instead of helping the poster, people just try to tell them they are wrong and bad at the game. Just go look at my last post and the comments, people don't like to help but just whine. So sorry you have to deal with all these people cause I had to do the same thing.

I cannot agree.

The poster wants help that is not realistic to be given - that is what is being pointed out.

He will not get support when

1. He is complaining about something that all people have to manage and learn to do it.

2. He is being told repeatedly that and counters each post by using flawed logic.

Yes, there are many in the forums that are not helpful, but they are sure not the majority. Read through the posts again if you must, most offered genuine wisdom. They offered solutions over and over again - but he does not want those solutions. He wants the company to solve a management problem.

He tried to use a flawed business analogy so I will as well...

If a manager keeps losing employees - yet other managers in other branches are not - then the flaw is probably in the manager.

10 pages on this thread and your saying no advice has been given? If you read all of the threads the OP has started they all are about clan management issues. He/she ignores all advice and will give a negative rep because you don't agree with them. They don't care to "manage" they want SC to do it for them.

I think that is ridiculous since when I join clans they sometimes put me in war without asking and even when I'm opt out so I leave, I would lose 6 stars. When running a clan never start a war a soon as you have an enough member. If many join at one time let them settle for 15 mins or so and most will leave the clan for their hoppers look to donate or request and if you put them in a war they will be mad and make the clan a terrible place.
