Mercenaries

It would be a great addition to the game to be able to "hire" troops as mercenaries using gold. The catch could be because they are hired troops they would be equal or +\- 1 level of your current troops and randomized to keep it a bit of a gamble.

An an example would be you have level 5 wizards. You hire 10 wizard mercenaries with gold and you get a randomized mix of level 4,5 and 6 wizards.

You could even have a set time window for the "hiring" to take place I.e. 1 minute for every 5 troop spaces hired Etc.

troops should be only trainable by elixir - gold is for defences, elixir for attacking

That's the whole point. Your not "training" your "hiring". When you train you know exactly what you'll get level wise. Hiring could get you a great troop or a weaker one. Just like hiring in real life hahaha.

well, lets then get rid of the weak and hire again, and again and again and again, till you have only strong

I'd recommend you put the hiring request out and it shows the troop type with "?" where the level would be. They would also show up in your available troops during battle similar to cc troops one icon to deploy them at once. They come out with their randomized levels. Therefore hiring/firing would do no good. Also the hiring limit could be capped.

So is there any benefit to hiring at high levels? Most of my troops are maxed out, so is this something that's effectively worthless to me?

You don't have to use this if it doesn't help. It's just there when people are trying to save up ex or de. who doesn't need to save some ex or de sometimes? Also, maxed troops hired could be weighted for more equal troops. its not like cc it wouldn't increase your troop count from what you have from camps.

It might just be me understanding this the wrong way, I mean isn't your proposal undermining Supercells business? Supercell is selling resources for gems, so wouldn't your proposal be counterproductive for them? They would lose the income from people gemming resources for an army if they just could "hire" troops.

Roas, SC is constantly making changes which could "undermine" their revenue stream but they do these to weigh out being a business and keeping folks interested. They changed the troop training time which could have lowered some gem use to finish troops quicker but I'm sure they saw the benefit of not losing players to getting bored. This would be no different than many of the changes SC makes to keep the game fresh while possibly lowering some spending. In the long run, keeping the players interested does eventually add to revenue.

Definitely. Just like trained troops.

I like the idea, but maybe the highest you can get from a hired troop is 1 level. That way people aren't getting maxed troops when they are only have lvl1 troops
