I don't think disallowing players from leaving is the answer. I often go donate troops to my feeder clan.
I'm still curious why the 24hr cool down can't be applied to visiting someone's home base? That would stop it, right? Or I know some have mentioned a percent change for home base. Maybe more than 10% change, then a 24hr cool down. Meaning, if you moved a couple traps it wouldn't lock.
Preventing leaving would not stop modding. You can still screenshot an opponents base, and have burner accounts in a second clan that you could work from. They leave their main account to go to a burner because it's easier and cuts out that middle step. Stopping them from leaving would just add one more step to their modding.
In absence of a perfect solution, you do what you can to curb cheaters. Let's face it, like many other games, SC will never come up with a perfect solution to get rid of them once and for all. You do what you can to without ruining the game for others. The longer you wait, the more people will stop taking wars seriously.
Seems I've read before that the attacks are server-side to prevent this kind of abuse. The base data doesn't actually get sent to your device. All you see is the result.
It used to be that you could just drop a troop and get all the trap locations, but I don't think that's possible anymore. Could be wrong, though.
The more I think about this and read this thread, the more disgusted I am that a great feature like Friendly Challenge is being abused like this.
I can't help but wonder what it must be like on the developer end to come up with new ideas for the game (like FC for instance) and then have to debate how viable it is because of how people might abuse it.
After some thinking, I might have a solution for this burner/cheating issue :
As of now, it looks like all of the game data exists somewhere on your device, once you download coc. Those 3rd party apps somehow have access to this data. Thatīs why it is possible as a th 3 to use th 11 troops with those cheats.
If, on a first install, you would only download the data necessary for a th 1, and then, each time your leveling up the th would be complete, the game would restart and download the additional content for the new th level, burner accounts could only have access to content corresponding to their th level.
No more th 11 troops with a th3...
Of course you could still gem all the way up to th 11, but that would be quiet costly.
I bet only very few people would be willing to shell out 80 bucks per war. ...
any downsides on this one ?
