My clan is all th9, most of them recent th9 so there are still ppl with lvl 5 archers. That is the default donation in my clan and they are fine with whatever decision I make. I just wanted to know what would benefit me more. I use an equal amount of barbs and archers currently. it just seems like you get way more from barbs than you do with archers.
Archers since you make clan mates happy and makes LOTS of other defenses have to hit them 2 times or more.

archer first, you can use your new lvl 6 giants for meat shield before upgrading your barb

Archers totally...also barbs will seem much cheaper and easier to get after you complete the archers!

Barbarians have the biggest performance increase, archers there is very little difference. I would go with barbs unless your clans default donation is archers and you have a big donation requirement.
