Drop all lightnings on container and press end battle? Sure, it works, but you can do
much better with bit of knowledge.
First off, study:

And
http://clashofclans.wikia.com/wiki/Dark_Elixir_Storage
Study for the pictures on what different level drills and storages look like. Rule of thumb is on drills: more gold the better. And on containers: smaller the better. Reason for this is the hitpoints of container and the max store DE on drill.
So, you can now note the difference between level 1 and level 6 storage and drill? If so, continue reading...
When going for the DE the sneaky way, you want the target be as follows:
- Higher TH than you, preferrably 2, best is 3. This has only the effect of the possible revenge. If you don't care about revenge, Th10 zarping Th10 is just as good.
- Plenty of DE, 2000 and up is the least to be worth the effort.
And action!
There we have a juicy 3524 DE loot target but how to get most of it? First, you check the fill rate of both storage and drills. Storage might show none, but if it's half-full, it's at least partly there for sure. But let's take a close look on the drills before dropping those spells, mmkay? The little box on top of the drill shows fairly accurately how much juice there really is. If the drill is golden and the container on top of it full, you might be better off aiming for the drill instead of the container.
But as often the drills are exposed, go for them with a blitz breach first and THEN hit the container with lightning.
Blitz breach is simply: couple giants first to draw fire, half dozen WBs to punch a hole, few archers and some goblins, all aimed at the drill. You want as much as possible DE, so don't bother going to the core on a strong base, just take a cheap shot and be on your merry way ;) Sometimes it's worth dropping lightning on well protected and highly upgraded&full DE drill rather than the storage as you get a lot more out of the drills. Learn the looks of diffent levels and different fill rates ;)
Drills done, storage next.
If the DE storage is housed next to gold storages, even better. Now you aim the lightnings to dead center of DE storage. All collateral looting is a bonus. Job done, time to go home.
You can easily then spend the next 1-2 hours doing some normal looting or something entirely different before you are ready to strike again.
Pros of this type of DE looting:
+ you don't have to waste playing time too much on this
+ high profit when done correctly
+ if hitting THs two or three higher, they can't revenge you anyway
+ you can laugh at the forums on people crying about your succesful lightning loots
+ now with the new loot system, even a TH10 can enjoy this super strategy and with the disco infernos, revenge will most likely fail anyway.
+ You can get away with almost 2k dlix and 100k gold (or lix) if you attack fully loaded Th10 with 4 containers around dlix pot by hitting the dlix with 5x6* lightnings. 10-20% less from a fully loaded Th9, so still well worth the effort
Cons
- you have to wait for the spells a while so you can't do it too often without gemming
- your odds of being accepted to certain clans drops to zero
This strategy requires very little experience on CoC so it can be more helpful than those complex strategies to a rookie.
You should also crown the attack by killing off CC troops, BK and AQ... And still not give a shield
This way you can ensure your attack will not be forgotten  Also, remember to deploy some barbs or gobs all around to trigger every trap there is. Emptying the defender's xbows and infernos takes bit more effort, but I'm sure the defender will take kindly on your extra effort.
Now, what are you waiting for? Go zap them dlix containers!
