Clan Wars, In-Depth ideas.
So people have been saying clan wars is difficult idea that's why it's taking so long blah blah blah. Well here you go Supercell, some ideas to help you along the way.
Beginning:
To initiate a clan war, a clan leader goes to another clans page, and at the top there is a button called "Initiate War" now a new box pops up and it's got all the info including a message box. You can say whatever you want, set a date and time the war will start, limits on things, game types etc. Just basic stuff. The leader gets a notification about the war. He can accept/decline. But in order for this to be easier/have better communication WE WOULD NEED PRIVATE MESSAGING. I don't know why that hasn't been implemented yet but that's a must for this idea. So the 2 clan leaders discuss details about the war.
Once the War has been set up, in the clan chat, it pops up with a message "(user) Has initiated a war against (clan), click to join (button)". Then all can join. Now the leader can manage the group, remove players or change things as seen fit.
For game types there can be quite a few. Base Race, Mano-y-Mano, Test Your Skills, just to name a few possible.
Base Race: A clan leader selects a base from a set list, that the enemy team must attack. After both teams attack the base, whoever did it in the fastest time gets a point. After the first battle has finished, the other team now has their opportunity to pick the base. So both teams go at it. Now if they are tied, there is a tie breaker. Both teams attack a pre-determined base (chosen at random). You can modify for up to 3,5,7 points etc.
Twist: teams must determine their army before they see the base. (This gives advantage to team picking the base).
How it would work as a clan:
Idea 1) Each player attacks with their army on the base, and the average attack time is the time used to determine winner between clans. OR, you could do the fastest time from each clan.
Idea 2) All players in the clan are on the same attack screen, each can deploy units on the base. So everyone is working together attacking at the same time. (I know that would be difficult to create).
Mano-y-Mano: Whichever clan is going first, each competitor from the attacking clan selects a member they want to attack on the opposing clan. Then they all commence attacking the base. The total # of stars they get is added up and that is what counts as their points. For round 2 the other clan does the exact same thing as the first. After all the smoke has settled whoever comes out with the most stars total wins. In the event of a tie, whoever got the highest percentage vs. the other clan member with the highest percentage. And that's the tie breaker. If multiple people on the same clan get 100% then whichever team got the most 100%'s wins the battle.
Test your Skills: So this is basically one clan designs/builds a base. Once they build it, the other team must attack that base. The TH level is already decided between the clan leaders before it starts. So one team builds a base the other attacks it, then vice versa. Whoever did better wins. It'd be determined by stars, if the same number of stars are achieved, then whoever had the higher percentage. If both teams get the same percentage and number of stars, the process would repeat until one clan is the winner.
How it would work as a clan:
All the members in the team would be able to help edit/design the base. Again, I know this would be difficult to create but hey, if you want to advance the game you gotta take big steps. So anyways, all members get to help design/create the base, by placing things/moving things and such. Then for attacking, only one person would get to attack, but they would all be able to watch the person attack. (Clan leader can pick who gets to attack).
So this is just scraping the surface of all the possibilities involving clan wars. It's something that would evolve over time, Supercell if you happen to release this. It's okay if you release it in bits/segments. Get the general base for the mini-game out into CoC. And over time change/add things as seen fit. This isn't something where you just throw it all into the game at the same time. It has to be gradual. No game has ever put something incredibly game changing into effect in one instant, everything is gradual.

Oh I forgot to mention the rewards. Here is a few ideas I came up with.
Clan trophy count. Similar to solo trophies. With leagues and the whole deal, except league bonuses would actually be good! On top of that you could stake resources in your clan wars. It would be another option for the clan leaders when initiating a war. You would put up the amount you want to stake. Then it would be evenly taken out from each player on the roster's storages. And if you win the earnings are evenly split up as well.
So in closing, I could go on for a while about all the possibilities, but feel free to comment questions or anything. Or even post your own game mode ideas or things related to Clan Wars. Because this really needs to be added.
