The only way it's going to be normal though is when people start selling again and there are enough new ads to replace the rehashed ones. I think we, the players, have more control over the problem with the newspaper than we realize. Just my opinion.

your comment must be the ignorant i've seen. do you EVEN know what rehashed ads are and how to distinguish between the true empty shops where items have been sold 2 minutes ago and rehashed ones where items have been sold 2 months ago? do you even know how to view player stats? its funny that you could jump onto conclusions like that, going on about people not selling and we have control over the newspaper than we think we have. you seem really sure of yourself that everyone is not selling and just whining. rehashed ads are not so simple. they're ads that have not been pulled off after the item has been sold. whether people are selling or not its beside the point. the point is SC intentionally (or unintentionally) recirculate the ads to pump up the volume, making it look like there are many ads going on, when there isnt. start advertising and selling is not going to solve the problem simply because SC does not want to solve it. we have no control over at our end. plus, do you have lots of items to sell? how much can you afford to sell a day? can you afford to keep restocking your shops 24/7? can your machine make hundreds of cakes, jams, ice cream a day? if you can't, you have no right to tell people to start selling and advertising. because we already have.

Nice reply....I totally agree with you! The fact the paper has been going from one glitch to another since at least four months ago has nothing to do with the events. The players have no control over the paper ads and the powers that DO are not acknowledging the issues, responding to any of the complaint posts nor does is it appear they are interested in fixing it.

i think that the drop in ads for expansion items is now due to the trading going on, many people are not selling those anymore because of the trading. But the old and empty ads are the true issue with the paper, and people are fed up of being ignored.

Kaylin I'm not sure calling some ignorant makes you look any better. This is a chat thread and anyone can give an opinion. But to call someone ignorant is ignorant. Are we in third grade? Are we going to throw stick too? . Jeez guys take a chill pill and go play some hayday! I

i dont really care, seriously. when i offered to help you with an expansion item once you told me "someone beat you to it". someone beat me to it? are we in a competition to help you? am i desperate to do it? im not sure if what you said made you look any better either.

thanks, dear! i have no idea seriously. i'd like to think that only a small percentage of players make up the traders on the forum so i'm not sure if its due to trading that people have stopped selling those stuff. its not just the expansion item ads that have gotten rehashed. i thought so initially too but i'm seeing every other darn thing getting rehashed too, even things as "innocent" as cornbread lol. one thing for sure, its mostly happening to very hot sellers like expansion items, cakes, ice cream, jam etc. oh well.

Let me rephrase. Name calling and personal attacks are not on. Consider this the warning, anyone who ignores it will be taking a short break from the forum.

To answer you, kaylinpickles, yes I know what rehashed ads are. One of the very first conversations I participated in in this forum had to do with ads running for the full 3 hours and everyone, including you, was trying to convince me that an ad is pulled as soon as the advertised product was sold. I disputed this point way back then before the events started and the issue with the newspaper came along because I had seen ads rerunning that I had already checked previously and the item was already gone. You and the others were insisting that this was the reason that bacon and eggs was the chosen ad because it wouldn't get bought quickly and the ad would continue to run, where as if you advertised something more interesting, it would sell immediately and your ad would be pulled. Obviously you all were wrong then because I think it's plainly obvious that no matter what you advertise for sale, it's going to get the full 3 hours, whether it's sold or not. Think about it - if the newspaper refreshes every five minutes, then your advertised item is going to shuffle and re-run repeatedly. When you place an ad, it doesn't say advertise for 3 hours OR UNTIL SOLD!! It just says 3 hours. But of course, this is just my humble opinion.

if its really like what you said - you advertise something it goes on for FULL 3 hours irregardless of whether the item has been sold or not, then please kindly explain why is it when you have a stand full of items and when the advertised item gets sold, nobody will come in and buy the rest of the items anymore, until you place another ad? if an ad goes on for a full 3 hours then people would come in continuously, in a steady stream isn't it? apparently that is not the case. if its like what you said, then why would anyone need to use bacon & eggs as a dummy ad or whine when their advertised item gets sold? because the rest of the items are left on the stand, simple as that.

i still stand by what i said - under NORMAL circumstances the ad will get pulled off once the advertised item has been sold. if you had asked me now, i will still convince you like what i did in the past. but rehashed ads are not "normal circumstances". rehashed ads arent ads that were advertised 3 hours ago. its more than that. i've seen the same ads for few months running. how do you explain it?

sorry to have used the word ignorant. please be assured i wasn't trying to say you are one, it has got nothing to do with you as a person of course. i just didn't like that you used an accusatory "tone" saying that we're all hording and not selling. theres a limit to how many items you can put up. we don't have 5 or 10 of each machine.
