Levels... what good are they?

What is the purpose of having levels in Clash of Clans? So far as I can see, levels are meaningless except for perhaps bragging rights. Are there plans to use the level system in CoC to offer unique features, such as specialized troops and/or buildings once you hit certain level milestones for example?

There's a few decorations that rely on level....

There needs to be some type of something that is linked to levels. Whether it be gold/elixir/dark elixir rewards or certain buildings unlocked at a certain level, etc.

Levels can tell you how much a person plays Clash of Clans.

Levels tell you almost everything about a player. How long they played... If they gemmed ect. Therefore saying this idea should not be added.
