Well, I don't disagree with the opinion that the rep system has reduced the number of toxic and trollish posts on the forums. But it has also discouraged many active and intelligent forumers (like me) from expressing their genuine opinion freely for the fear of a negative rep.
I'll give an example. Assume that there's a thread asking about the advantages of different troops. A certain guy answers the question before I can. I also have a similar (not same, similar) opinion about the troops as that xyz guy has, except that I explain it in a more calculative and detailed manner which would definitely prove helpful to the OP. But I get downvoted because xyz guy had already posted about that before me, even though my opinion was more accurate than xyz. After all, you always can't be the first replier to every thread, right? So, I get one dv for my opinion, two dv's and so on, until a red blob appears under my name, stating that my posts are low quality, and no one will value them anymore, even though they are good.
What's the use of the rep system in such a case? What do y'all think about it?
