There are many reasons people on internet forums tend to be so less polite and often toxic and rude compared with real life, and yes one reason is its hard to punch someone thought he internet, another its easy to have no empathy when you dont look someone in the eyes, and of cours your semi annonomous on linem but part of the equasion is in real life if you go around sproting toxicity and inaccuracy your rep suffers. Sure real life rep cannot be compared to forum rep, most people probably dont care that much, and some not at all, but it still is a concept that reduces toxicity and has value in real life, and so far seams to have some positive effect here.
