Same with me on my own profile.

Whatever your feelings regarding this system, forum is less toxic since introduction, not sure if its because people are phrasing things more politely (huge positve), are too afraid to put forward genuine unpopular opnions (negative for forum), or are avoiding certain topics (negative and positive effect- net hard to tell.)
So far I think it will have my vote, so to speak.
I also think its a good bridge builder, I recently upvoted someone that, will lets just say is not on my Christmas Cards list. Bottom line he deserved it, and who knows maybe it will lower the mutual hostility between us. Till we downvote each other of course, but lets hope that doesnt happen.
It's a good idea, but there are many on this forum that don't / won't know how to properly use the system. Dissenting opinions should still be heard if they are worded in a good way. Many people will give reputation points based on the opinions of a poster, and this is counterproductive to healthy discussions.
And visa versa. I really do not like the down voting idea. I think in the long run it might discourage people to comment if they see they have been downvoted. Why do we need a down-vote anyway. If they violated a forum rule they get an infraction etc.. If we are to keep the forums on a positive swing they should only allow the reputation points to be increased. I suppose if they violated a forum rule those points can be taken away? So I agree with you Brandon, this can open up a can of worms that may be counter productive.
This has already been discussed in this thread. Basically it is because there are some things that people don't want to see more of, which are not infraction-worthy. Some examples would be snide or unhelpful replies to an OP that stop short of trolling, or contentless posts like "LOL /10 char" or "this ^^ 10 char". A downvote can be used to make that known.
If you are constructive here, I doubt your longterm reputation will be hurt by a few down votes. YMMV.
One thing I have noticed from your profile which could be affecting it is that you don't appear to have ever verified your email. I'm not actually sure how you can even post without having done that, unless it wasn't necessary when you joined.
You can request the verification link here: https://forum.supercell.com/register...o=requestemail
That will send a link to your registered email address.
