You got to be kidding LOL.
You think the mods want to deal with every person who gets hurtfeelioma because they got down voted?
This whole rep system is unnecessary. It wont drive people to the fourms it will drive them away.

On that forum I referenced where I have been posting a very long time, that has a reputation system...I have been banned by a moderator for "rep power abuse" because I "downvoted" (aka negged) somebody who was trolling. Unwritten rule, BTW, downvoting/negging a mod or friend of a mod = infraction/ban.
WHen your reputation gets high enough, you can troll freely because nobody has the power to make a dent in your rep power
Hi rachel, here is my answer to that, a persons popularity should not be a deciding factor in whether a post is good or bad. People come to the forums all ready predjuiced on their belief in a topic whether its popular or effective or not. A post should not be up or downvoted on popularity but in overall content provided and how provided. What this system tells me is peoples reputation is more important than actually playing the game which is why i find it so highschoolish. Upvote or downvote me if i post, doesnt matter because ultimately my reputation will not effect upgrading my village, but what might affect it is a post on a strategy or upgrade priority irregardless of a persons 'status' because all information and point of views can be helpful depending on how a players chooses to use it or not.....
I'm totally with you Rambletamble but not everyone is objective like you.
But let's be honest, when you read posts, who are you likely to believe? the one with a whole bunch of green marks (great reputation) or the one with the very low or no reputation at all? Its hard to sift through all the posts in this forum and find helpful information as it is.
I wouldnt put to much into this rep system. Unless the poster is a obvious troll just base your decisions on the quality of the post in question. You and I very much disagreed in a clan wars thread recently and alot of others disagreed aswell. That thread possibly would have got you down votes but yet hear i find myself agreeing with you. If i just saw you had amassed a bunch of bad rep for 1 topic and skipped rite over you i would have missed a post we have common ground on. I think most of the insightful forumers with critical thinking skills will also just take posts for what they are and mabey look at the rep. status as a footnote at best.
I don't think there is going to be a big rush to gang up and downvote people just based on a difference of opinion. I do think people who get downvoted for being toxic will THINK it was just due to a difference of opinion. That said, I also think it could happen unreasonably here and there and this would be helped by requiring 10 upvotes for every downvote. I also think it is best to keep this anonymous.
