Are you familiar with HPHB strat?
2 babies, 3 Pekka, 3 healer, 7 wizards, 11 hogs 2 heal, 2 rage, 2 poison cc bowlers
for #1 drop one baby at 12 o'clock and one on the spell factory.
drop 3 Pekkas on the army camp between the babies with 3 healers on them
immediatly drop 5 wiz behind with BK, AQ, and bowlers
rage this group into the AQ so the healers get pulled into the rage as your troops push though, meanwhile double poison the troops that come out of cc.
support your squad with hogs to take out core defense, use your heals on them
last 2 wiz where needed
Believe me those two bases can easily be 3*d by gowiva stat. Train 1 golem 15 valks, 13 wiz 5 wbs 2 archers , golem n cc. heal rage n jump. Gowiva just work properly on wide bases.
First is a quite simple lavaloon. Tho hphb will work on both as Klavious said.
#2 is a goboho from 9
GoVa is like a 99% 3* star strat for TH9. Use AQ walk and 1 or 2 hogs to draw the CC. The send your CC (golem) along with 4-6 wiz to another. In your top one aq walk from top near the archer tower. Golem and wiz from left (by the cannon) maybe add BK as well. This should clear out the sides. Let the valks from the lab. Just use a jump to get them into the center....and use all heals for the rest. Easy 3*.
The second base is actually a better design. I would aq walk from top....then either golem from left or from right. Then valk in the middle. For this one you can use a little less valks (maybe less 3) and replace with hogs. The only reason for this is when the valks "skip a box" or while they are getting hit....send some hogs in. Again...I would use 1 jump and all heals.
The key that most people mess up with GoVa is that they have 2 golems. Notice in both cases I only use 1 and its used for just half of the tunnel. I often don't even use bombs for the golem....just let it die as the wiz pick off all the defenses. The only times you use bombs for it, is to ensure that all the defenses target it.
Correct....from what I've read in forems GoVa is just what troops you use after you finish your AQ walk. AQ walk is the #1 way to start all 3* war attacks...at TH9/TH10. So it is just assumed that GoVa means AQwalk then GoVa.
Granted some used to use GoVa to mean 2 or more golems and some wiz to make the funnel then spam valks....but this was before they nerf valks the first time.
The problem I find with most Golem based attacks is people use too many. You often see all the troops die with 2 almost full golems pounding walls.
I'm not sure I agree, at all, that, "AQ walk is the #1 way to start all 3* war attacks" at any TH. I would also question the 99% stat you claimed.
I think it's definitely more viable at TH9 than TH10+, but even at TH9 it still seems a far cry from, "the #1 way to 3* all war attacks." AQ walk is just another option at TH9.
Further, GoVa is simple (1) golem, (2) valks and the presumed wizards. I think you'll find that strategy seldom gets 3*.
AQ Walk plus whatever is often/overwhelming just an AQ Walk.
From what you've read or from what you know by practice? This GoWiVa meta hasn't been able to tackle my base in like 10+ wars. In fact, as in discovered by practice, I've stepped down from sole GoWiVa completely.
The addition of a QW though, makes it a multi phased hybrid attack. You've got a better chance on three starring, yes, but certainly not a 99% success rate.

OP: how did the HPHB work out for you?
I had a brutal 99% (hey that is a coincidence...) two star yesterday with it, but that was a human error: change pilot 🙈
