Stop ! I found an easy solution to engineered wars

I have been thinking instead of revamping the MM system to change engineering why not just allow clans to choose which wars they would like to be in. I was reading a post recently and it gave me an idea. When we start our wars we add a new option called "competitive wars" or "regular wars"

What does this mean?

Regular wars are what you see now with the MM system. So nothing has changed.

Competitive wars will only allow players that have maxed defenses( not walls) to compete. What would that look like? E.g. if you are a brand new th9 your defenses all have to be a maxed th8 to be allowed to war in "competitive wars" options. E.g. If you are a th10 and forgot to max your air sweeper (Th9 lvl) you will not be able to participate in "competitve wars" until you max that air sweeper. SC will acknowledge this by placing a Badge on your profile to indicate you are "competitive war" ready

Everyone will continue to war as normal "regular wars" and the clan will encourage people to max their defenses to their appropriate lvls to be able to compete in "competitive wars". Another idea is to create a low spread of th lvls in creating wars. E.g. Th7, Th8, Th9 consecutively.

By having competitive wars you will not be facing any serious lopsided bases. The MM will continue match bases on the old alogrythim but at least they will. At first it might take some time to m

Realistically it will take some time to generate wars at first but eventually most bases will upgrade their defenses appropriately to be able to war competitively. This would take about 20 to 30 days for most.

Eventually if most people want to compete in competitive wars the "regular wars" will eventually become obsolete because lets face it who wants to war when you are at a disadvantage.

What are the rewards for competitive war ? If you only set it to maxers only I don't see how its so great.

This will give an advantage to maxers only clans. As a brand new TH10 with all maxed out th9 defenses you wont be able to compete vs a maxed out TH10. Lets say I'm in a clan of 10 maxed out TH10s... unless your 10 TH10s are maxed out you're at a disadvantage.

Not sure about it all being maxed, as if you are a say 9.5 then you gonna be punished with going against engineering players. To stop engineering the quickest way, would be to put a minimum base war weight per th lvl upgrade. But again it's not fair for all.

Apparently maxers don't want to be at a disadvantage that is why they keep trying to come up with an idea to make everyone else play like them.

OP, you know where IFR is as most of your other ideas to eradicate engineering get moved there. Why post this in General?

Sounds terrible.

Pretty sure this would not solve a thing but it would likely make things worse as war search would now take even longer as you've sub divided available opponents into smaller groups.

Only changes to weights and mm should be used to balance wars.

O.P. that was my original Idea that you tweaked. Which is O.K. I think what O.P meant is that if you are a 9.5 you still can be available for what O.P. called a competitive war. So you will have people with 0.5, but they will be maxing their defences before they put in big defensive guns. Essentially it looks like what O.P. is talking about is that the MM system will be the same but to be placed in a competitive war you will need to at least have maxed defences of at least one TH down from you. So you can be a Th9 with max th8 defences in war. What you can not be is a Th9 with even one th7 defence. This will kill those so called th10 engineered bases with th3 defences.

I think What O.P. is talking about is wars will be the same as usual but the clans that have non engineered bases will be able to compete in the " competitive clan wars" . At first it will be a learning curve and who cares about the time it generates to create a war in competive wars. What would you prefer, waiting 2 to 6 hours for a fair war or waiting 10 minites for a lopsided match up>>> Hmmm I will let you decide that . At first it will take a bit of time to match up as clans would need at least 10 non rushed or non engineered bases to war. Most clans already have this so I do not see the potential problem only the positive effect of having fair and fun wars.

Eventually competitive wars will be the norm and those clans that do not have 10 strong defensive bases will have the option of status quo "regular wars"

I would add that competitive wars give that clan more loot and XP for making the war "the way it was meant to be played"

So I would not throw this post off, if you re look at the advantages of this you will see it is a way to get everyone to eventually evolve into "the way the game was supposed to be played" especially wars.

Other than that SC will have to come up with something drastic to kill of the engineered bases which will not be received to well by the Clash community.

OP, Translated. I overbuilt defenses and can't carry my weight in war. Walls were expensive so I chose to build Xbows and active defenses while I ignored my candy walls. Now war is HARD.

Thx prosper and I apologize for using your idea, I hope it was O.K. Even better if SC made engineered bases illegible for war that would solve the problem as well. People do not engineer for regular game play they engineer to get the advantage in war by exploiting the MM system. They are actually not playing the game the way it was intended to play. So SC should allow a slight variation of defenses such as 0.5s. I liked your recent post stating that IF only people that have maxed defences that are 1 thlvl below them should be allowed to war. This all makes sense. now.

So, as you admit it was prosper's idea, why did you create another whole thread about it instead of posting your support in the right place, i.e. the original thread?

Now toddle off and provide some proof for your unsupported assertion that engineering is " not playing the game the way it was intended to play".
