Now I'm no poster child for maxers nor am I a hardcore engineer. One of my 8s is lacking a bomb tower and tesla just because I haven't saved up for them. The th6 is the most engineered with lv 1 defenses but troops are weak too as I use it for a filler from time to time. I just upgrade it this way on its journey to 7 where it will park and play catchup on everything. All other accounts have defenses at or very near town hall level.
The 9 on the top isn't very strong. Looks like it came from th8 not too long ago. Defenses are ok but not great for an anchor base. Troop strength is average with lv 4 valks unlocked. Th10 has max valks, th10 drags and bowlers unlocked. Both have pre teen heroes. Mine just hit the teens.
Now, if I was a new th9 going against this, I wouldn't be happy. I would probably lack the attacking experience to 3 their top base while they are already celebrating the win with an easy 30. Th10 dips on my 9, th9 double dips on my 8s, 7s do the rest. Plus, its a one man clan on top of it. Other clan has an extremely easy time on the other side. Unlucky for him/her, I'll match that 30 with 30 of my own which means I can see the future. Hooray, what fun!
So, in my opinion, coming from a less experienced player's point of view, engineering is not good for the game. It is good for people with less than average attackers to enjoy the game by dip attacking on town halls lower than them. I know not all do this and they use it for an extra attack on an equal town hall. I can understand that use, but its also being used in the way I described. Probably a lot more than fighting equal town halls and that's the engineering I have an issue with.
