Why engineering is good for the game

I already answered this in the post you replied to: so the outcome is decided more by the attacking and base designing skill and less by the taking advantage of the matchmaker skill. I don't fault engineers for upgrading "intelligently" (for war, and as the matchmaking changes, those engineered accounts will no longer be considered by you to be intelligently upgraded) for now while they have the ability to take advantage of the matchmaker. However, I do hope SC continues to reduce that advantage. I also support SC making what is good for trophy pushing more similar to what is good for war. It makes sense to me to have both aspects of the game supported by the same upgrade plan. It seems silly to have to sit and think about whether I should build an eagle which would help trophy pushing but hurt war (assuming that is true).

You love engineering. You think the skill of taking advantage of the war match is fun and is a good part of the game. That is fine opinion to have. Some agree with you, some do not.

Still waiting for a good reason as to why engineering is good for the game.

Engineering is a touchy subject for many, it's not against the rules but it does (imo) ruin the game and will slowly be phased out or re-corrected. There is no argument (again imo) that engineering is just another way to play the game and that removing it makes only one way to play, because by it continually going as it is, it will change the way we have to play anyway to that one way.

I agree. The majority of my clanmates are all maxers, but because we have faced so many engineered clans, many of us are engineering minis. It's just adapting to the game. If engineering ever went away, I would opt my mini out until it was a more conventional base.

There is no right or wrong answer to your questions. It is a matter of opinion and SC is left with trying to decide which one most players favor and which is good for the game long term. Some people like to engineer their accounts and roster to the point of an easy 100% damage every war, guaranteeing them a tie or win every war. Some find that fun. Others find the prospect of matching up against clans that have way more offensive power, making it a match they cannot win because they did not engineer that way to take advantage of the matchmaking no fun at all. For some, it drives them away from the game. SC needs to decide which method of playing is best for the game.

As SC continues to alter the matchmaker the engineered accounts will have less and less advantage. Some in this thread are talking about defenseless accounts and my personal experience is those are much less of an advantage than they used to be. .5s with high level offense and heroes are also much less of an advantage than they used to be. It has been changing.

Some people enjoy it. They like having the war outcome determined in large part based on who is better at upgrading in a way that takes advantage of the match making system. They spend a lot of time and effort to do it and THAT is the part of the game they enjoy. Others would prefer matches where defense and offense is similar and the outcome is determined mostly by skill in base design and attacking. THAT is what they enjoy about wars. Neither side is right or wrong. One side likely has more support than the other, but it still remains a matter of opinion of which one is more enjoyable.

Excuse me, but this happens to be the Internet. All comments are supposed to be emotion-filled diatribes of how every single other person is wrong (even those who agree with you). Your rational and level-headed responses have no place here!

This game has so many levels, so many different algorithms. Sometimes they are a little screwey, but in all the artificial intelligence is supurb. I have 2 villages with 3 archer towers, 3 cannons, 2 mortors, 2 wizard towers, 4 air defenses and 1 air sweeper. Lvl 7 aq 8 bk on one account. Lvl 7 aq lvl 7bk on other. 140 walls on one account 190 on the other. Both th9. I am a defensive strategist, stemming from being an offensive strategist. Every base is engineered .

I love this game for the amount of strategy that comes into play, wether you are "engineering" troop upgrades for attacking or defensive structures. All i have to say is, the revolutionary war wouldve never been won if they followed basic strategy.

The game is evolving constantly. All I have to say is Thank you Supercell!

Now give me better gem packages haha

This is effectively the same situation with us. And most of us are looking forward to the day when we can just build the base defenses and move on from this issue.
