People who are takers and don't return the favor
I have read posts about people who don't help others. Yet, they get help. I know this is just a game, but there are times a person can't load a boat on their own, or need trees and bushes done. I've had boats sit till last minuet because of no help. I also change farm name to boat is in or something to do with what boat needs. To those people who laugh and say they have followers and don't know why because they don't help others, kinda seems that that's the personality you hold in real life. So sorry for you, because when you need help, it may not be there. When I go through the paper here, I help who ever I can. And I like the farms that I buy and help. I also help the people who are on my lists. Kinda sucks you can only have so many people.
Are people having problems with challenges?

When I get help I often go to my helpers shop and buy something, just to say thank you. But it is not always they are selling anything. But when I can, I buy - even wheat - just as thank you for the help.
You are welcome to add me in gc - right now I do not have so much time to play, but when I play I help.
And it is a good idea to send boats away with sugar, cream etc.
I read your quote at the end of this page are people having problems with unsolicited challenges? I'm not into them. Would not accept them. I still need to know how to add friends. Tried looking for the app that they say is out there can't find it I'm on an ipad..

It is hard to judge how these things work really, so I agree with CheddarLimbo. I put stuff in my stall and within seconds everything except the bacon and eggs are gone. Gone! As I put something into the slots it disappears. And within minutes even the bacon and eggs are gone too. And this is true whether I advertise or not. The only time things stay in that shop is when i put indigo, strawberries, eggs and roasted tomatoes in at the top price. :p
Otherwise it might easily appear to someone visiting in the middle of the day that my stall is always empty and since I find it very challenging to help with sugar (10 brown sugar needed for one crate?!! You must be joking!) and dairy boats (8 cheese per crate?!!!!) (and so many of my neighbours request help on those) it might appear that I'm always buying stuff and asking for help and never helping back in return.
But I do know what you mean. It gets frustrating when you pop open a boat you think might not be too hard for friends and neighbours to fill and you end up having to scrounge around to fill it or have to watch sadly as you couldn't get anyone to fill that 3 butter crate in time. These days I cast any boat off that I cannot fill myself. I will give my neighbours the opportunity to help me out () with one of each item. But if it doesn't get filled after a while then I fill it myself and send that boat off. Last night I even put cornbread and blackbery muffins in my stall at default price so that whoever came by could buy them and help my boat out at the same time. lol.
I usually always have stuff in my stall for sale unless I'm bought out. Sometimes things go pretty quickly.

Empty shops are....BORING. Sell something, anything please.

Whoa...everyone seems a bit grumpy!
Maybe it's the hot summer weather (for us in the N. hemisphere), but is anyone else finding this thread full of kind of grumpy neighbours? I had no idea people were that careful and critical about checking their neighbours out before helping.
Now I'm feeling bad about not being there 24/7 for everyone, but I'm usually rearranging my Gazanias, adding pools and benches and buying yet more trees with my precious vouchers to replace those I thoughtlessly cut down at the beginning of the game. Gosh, it takes half my play time just turning away those pesky little people! But I try to help whoever needs it, friend, follower or stranger from the paper...it just seems right for me, but not a big deal if it's not returned...sheesh! (random acts of kindness anyone?)
I only accept a boat I know I can fill myself eventually, but I always advertise one or two crates for some awesome friend to fill for me. That gives me pleasure and him/her pleasure too, I would hope. I also always stock my stall regularly although not constantly with good stuff at cheaper than full prices and now that I'm finished expanding everything on my farm, I am happy to pass along ALL those items to friends in need.
I love how Hay Day is so international and recognize that half my neighbours may be in bed while I'm Hay Daying, but I think we need to accept that everyone plays it differently and hopefully, we play it to have fun! PLEASE, happy farming to all.
Thanks to all my GREAT neighbours
Well, I'd like to thank all my great neighbours for always being so helpful, even when I (shame, hang head) do open a crate or two of dairy/sugar products for you to help me fill!
