That's a really good idea, however I have a lot of randoms from the Internet from my Facebook account (not my real FB account though!) so I have no way of checking them out. But, oddly enough, as they are not on the forum they usually have fabulous things in their shops, far more so than GC friends I have acquired through the forum as they don't trade.

I also help a lot of my friends with boat orders, but there are a certain few that I would be willing to give my last few items of a difficult to produce item - even jam, whereas others only get spares, and I will first check if my good helpers need help first (and i judge not just in filling boat orders but also reviving my bushes and trees quickly, and actually bothering to check if I have something that needs reviving when I have a boat flagged).

But I don't accept a boat order for myself unless I know I can fill the majority of the crates easily, and if the worst happens I can usually fill it but taking much longer and not getting my bonus points for sending the boat off quickly if I have to (have chanced it with some jam orders though, when I've had the wrong one in the barn). I also ask for help on 1 of each crate even if I can fill it easily to give friends a chance to get boat points, but will go back and fill after 30-60 mins if no one else has filled it (I haven't needed to as yet though as it's always filled really quickly!)

That seems borderline stalker-y, and a lot of trouble to vet someone so thoroughly to make sure they have "earned" your virtual jam. :D But if it's that important to you, I guess go for it? Sounds like a solid system.

I had to laugh at this. I think we are neighbours and I never see anything in your stall. lol. :cool:

It is hard to judge how these things work really, so I agree with CheddarLimbo. I put stuff in my stall and within seconds everything except the bacon and eggs are gone. Gone! As I put something into the slots it disappears. And within minutes even the bacon and eggs are gone too. And this is true whether I advertise or not. The only time things stay in that shop is when i put indigo, strawberries, eggs and roasted tomatoes in at the top price. :p

Otherwise it might easily appear to someone visiting in the middle of the day that my stall is always empty and since I find it very challenging to help with sugar (10 brown sugar needed for one crate?!! You must be joking!) and dairy boats (8 cheese per crate?!!!!) (and so many of my neighbours request help on those) it might appear that I'm always buying stuff and asking for help and never helping back in return. :rolleyes:

But I do know what you mean. It gets frustrating when you pop open a boat you think might not be too hard for friends and neighbours to fill and you end up having to scrounge around to fill it or have to watch sadly as you couldn't get anyone to fill that 3 butter crate in time. These days I cast any boat off that I cannot fill myself. I will give my neighbours the opportunity to help me out (:rolleyes:) with one of each item. But if it doesn't get filled after a while then I fill it myself and send that boat off. Last night I even put cornbread and blackbery muffins in my stall at default price so that whoever came by could buy them and help my boat out at the same time. lol.

Likewise, how would you know if they never have anything in their shop? Between boats and trucks, and other peoples crates, it can be hard to build up a huge stockpile of extra goods to have in the store. Maybe they DO put some goodies out there but because they have 100 followers who buy everything really quick you're missing what they put out?

Although I suppose they could make a bunch of sweaters, spicy popcorn, roasted tomatoes, pumpkins, indigo and the like and put THAT in the stall... but then they'd probably have a bunch of people complaining that their store is always full of things they don't want...

I guess my point is: maybe give people the benefit of the doubt sometimes? And recognize that not everyone is playing the game the same way you are?

Lol I second that :D. Maybe we're in different time zones but I hardly see anything in her shop as well :(

I think it's been said before somewhere in this thread, that we do put things our shops, and within seconds they are gone. Sometimes to neighbours/friends. And sometimes to just people who have popped by. I, more often than not, have excellent stuff in my shop, every box with a good item. Today I added Jams, nails, planks, ice cream, cakes, pies, mallets, stakes, deeds, jewellery. And it sat there for hours, then everything was brought by someone I've never seen buy from me before. They took everything. But if I filled my stalls each time like that, re stocking each time it was brought, I'd have nothing left. Sometimes, I guess people visit my shop at the wrong time of the day...

That's really interesting actually! I have a few "friends" in my GC that I never see help out so I went and checked their achievements. They all had Captain III but hadn't even completed Co-Op I. Of course they are free to play the game whichever way they want but I'd rather not help them fill their boats if it's clear they will never help my boat... So I unfriended them.

Request is where you will find request sent to you that you can accept or decline.

My ame center doesn't look like that. All I can do is access my account. The games are on each side of the board . It has add photo, my name and access account. Wierd. I'll keep looking.

Understood. I'm not asking for a full stand 24/7 but something there to at least let me know ur still playing the game. I do truck orders all the time so I'm in constant need of stuff. I tend to scroll through my friends list first then check the paper for the items I need. There's nothing more depressing than seeing an empty stall all the time.
