More profit by making the wars more accessible to the working class. win win solution

Dear Supercell Team,

I am writing to you to submit my idea to improve the game experience by making the wars in CoC more accessible to the working class, which ofc will result in an profit increase for you.
Let me first present myself and then explain the main issue I want to fix with my solution.

My name is Christian (in game Name: Metti le Grand TH10 almost completely reversed my rush) and I’m about to finish my studies. I’m one of 5 Co-leaders in the clan called “RECOGNIZE THIS!” lvl10 (#P8CRY8LC), which is a 24/7 war clan.

When we started our clan about 2 years ago our members where mainly students who had not a lot of money and had plenty of time to do their two attacks during the day as long as they had no exams to study for.

Now time has passed and our clan consisted mainly of people who were working and had no time during workhours to do their attacks.
On top of that some of us have become parents, which means that they have a second job when they come home that goes from 5pm to about 9pm.

The following has changed:

- Our members earn money but have no time during the day to play that means they have to decide between their job and clash, which is an easy call.

- The working class only has time from 7pm to 12pm to play if they are without child, with children it would be from 9pm to 12pm. But let’s be honest most people are in bed already around 11pm.

Now considering these 2 things we are left with 5 hours to organise and do all of our attacks under time pressure, would you enjoy that after a long day of work?

I’m pretty sure I will not be able to run our wars once I join my mates in the working world and I think this might be the end for us.

My suggestion is to change the preparation duration to 19 hours and the fighting time to 28 hours.

So if you now start your war at 0:00 the fighting phase of the war would start at 19:00 and end one day later at 23:00, which would give your clan 9 hours to get all of their attacks out.
This leads to a bigger customer range, in other words more profit, and the clashers can stay loyal to the game for many years to come.

Thanks in advance for your time, hope I won’t have to stop playing the game in 6 mounts when I start working.

If what you say is true, then you've left yourself no time on prep day to get sorted.

Everybody uses the bathroom, no? Everyone gets a lunch break? In 24 hours you should be able to find the time for two 3 minute attacks, and if you really can't get that done, then you probably shouldn't be warring. If I'm gonna be too busy, I opt out.

In any case, it doesn't really make a lot of sense to change an entire way of doing things for millions of people in order to satisfy the very, very small subset of people who want the schedule you've proposed.

It doesn't hurt the other players, it only increases the number of players who play this game. It seems to make mathematically sense.

I don't have time to play games when I'm at work since I'm a good employe who takes the contract he signed seriously, you should try that some day.

When I go to the bathroom I do it fast, I don't play games since I'm being paid to work. At lunch I eat with my colleges and we discuss work related topics since we like to win in the game called life. It would be very unprofessional to play games there. The guy who plays games there is the guy who won't get the promotion when the time comes.

We are an adult clan and what i noticed is that all of us that put money first and games second stop playing this game at some point, even though they would like to keep playing. 2 weeks ago I had to kick 30 players who stoped playing and most of them where TH9 so they have been playing for a while.

You are losing customers who actually have alot of money to spend and on top of that nobody needs that long to prepare for clan wars. We for example need max 1 hour then we are good to go.
You look what troops the enemy has maxed, if there are units that have been maxed first, in other words point out, they will probably attack with those units. Then you activate the layout best suited to defend against that typ of attack and fill up the clan castles. Then finally you assigne attack numbers and that is all you can do until the war starts.

You haven't given one downside to my idea; you are just fighting against change that could be an improvement to the game for no reason.

And last but not least, the good clans are usually led by adults who understand something of planning and who sooner or later have to work. Since all of the Co-leaders will have to work at some point you can hardly make sure the clan wars run succesfully on your toilet breaks. The biggest part of the planning is during the fighting phase.

Alternative facts won't work on me, if you have some valid points I would love to hear them.

Your idea isn't good because you've changed the war schedule to what suits you best. Great, you don't ever pull your phone out at work. Congratulations, I guess you're better than me for that. But if you don't have the time to play the game, you shouldn't be playing the game. The developers of this game should not have to tailor the game to give you the best experience. They need to think about everybody.

A 23 hour prep day allows anyone to get online during prep to do what they need to do. As a clan with members across the pond in either direction, this is important. By your own admission, some people can only get on during certain hours in the day, and with a 19 hour prep day, accommodating my US players, my UK players and my Aussie players becomes quite difficult, if not impossible. Especially if the matchmaker acts up. And that doesn't even account for the fact that players in each region sometimes log on at different times.

As for micromanaging, my clan doesn't do that. Why? I don't have the time! I don't have the time to sit on my phone and tell people how and where to attack. I have to trust that they know their own skill and can get 3 stars on their own. If I do happen to be on, I absolutely give tips, and if a clan mate struggles with their attack, I review it and make suggestions. My Co-Leaders do the same, but even between us all, micromanaging simply isn't an option. If your reasoning for not having the time to attack is because you're too busy micromanaging, then your key problem is that you're failing to properly manage your time resource in a resource management game.

And there is certainly no need to attack me personally for disagreeing with you. I do quite well for myself, thank you very much

You could also look at just doing wars on weekends. If your entire clan has issues playing during the week.

To start off, I would like to apologize if I was rude to you I just get upset when people just blab stuff out.

Well me and people who don’t have a big time zone difference, now the question is are there more people who are in your situation or more people who have the same situation as me?
What you are saying seems to be a valid point if the summation of the players from the USA, UK and Australia are the majority of Supercell’s customer base. I think we would have to add at this point other countries to that number who have the same preferred native language but are in different time zones, so that would be the following:

Countries

1) English: USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and UK =>Sum of population = 413 259 000

2) Spanish: Mexico, Colombia, Spain, Argentina, Peru, Venezuela, Chile, Ecuador, Guatemala, Cuba, Bolivia, Dominican Rep, Honduras, Paraguay, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, Panama, Uruguay and Equatorial Guinea => Sum of population = 440 320 916

3) Portuguese: Brazil, Mozambique, Angola, Portugal, Guinea-Bissau, East Timor, Equatorial Guinea, Macau, Cape Verde and Sao Tome and Principe => Sum of population – (Equatorial Guinea, since I’ve already named them in point 2) = 270 240 998

Not counting Chinese, Hindi, Arabic, Bengali, Russian, Japanese and Punjabi/Lahnda since these languages are spoken more or less in the same time zone.

So this would be a total number of 1 155 464 914 who are potentially concerned by your problem. Now ofc we would need to know exactly how many people play CoC in these countries but that information has Supercell, so they could get more accurate numbers. For now let’s assume the percentage of players in each country is the same.

Now if we say the world population is about 7 500 000 000 we would get 1 155 464 914/7 500 000 000 = 0.154 which is 15.4%. Let’s round it up to 16% of the players are potentially concerned by your situation and that is without subtracting the clans who live in these countries and are for example all US citizen. This number would be in your favour.

The other 84% of the world are not concerned by your problem.

Now the question is how many people have the same problem as me. That would be for Supercell to determine, since they have the needed data to do the math.

There are about 3 billion employed people in the world that would be 3/7.5=0.4, so 40%. Now the next question would be how many of them would or do play the game, again that’s for Supercell to determine since they have the data base for this kind of calculations.

Looking at these numbers, it looks like one of us is putting America first again and the other one is looking at the bigger picture.

Let’s go to the next thing you said, shall we?

If you don’t define what they need to do you pretty much are saying nothing. The upper sentence is meaningless. I told you what needs to be done when you prep a day and this actually takes no time. The only thing everyone needs/can do is change their active layer, filling the clan castle can be done by 2 people. If i have forgotten something pls tell me what so I can take it into consideration.

Again you are using empty words since you don’t define accommodating. What do you accommodate?

We are using a planning app to assign numbers to players nice and easy they only have to figure out, which attack to use.

16% everybody :D, I told you fake facts won’t work with me.

Here is Supercell’s new advertising claim “But if you don't have the time to play the game, you shouldn't be playing the game."

Increasing Supercells profit will automatically increase the development of the game, which is a win for everyone or like some people would say it a win for only me.

I have been working befor, I know how I work. Just because I don't express myself well in English it doesn't mean that my point is not valid.

Looking at national populations doesn't really give any sort of indication about who this affects. For example, 3B people work? Sure, but how many of those 3B work 9-5? That's not my schedule. Some work graveyard. Some work from home. Some work 24 hour shifts and some part time. So let's throw that out. Also, just because my clan doesn't have any Asian members in it doesn't mean that nobody does. My clan's only language requirement is that you speak English, and a lot of the world does. So again, throw those stats out. If you don't want me to use "fake facts", then don't use meaningless statistics in your own argument.

As for my point about prep, it doesn't matter what prep day consists of, but I'll give it to you anyway. Filling CC, scouting enemy offense and defense, predicting their strategy and tailoring our defenses to match. I'll give you that it doesn't take a whole lot of time to do all that, but when you can only get on for two hours per day to do anything, some people are going to be left out completely with a short prep day. The 23 hours isn't to give one person enough time to fill clan castles, it's to give everyone the world over a chance to log on and scout things out before war day starts. Maybe they want to change their CC or swap out their war base. Who knows?

I'll say it one more time for emphasis. I realize that no single person should need more than an hour for prep. But the long prep day is to give anyone in the world enough time to log on when it fits their schedule, whether it's right away or in the last hour. In fact, I do have a clan member whose only time they can get on is during the last hour of both prep and battle day. And sometimes he needs that last hour of prep to change something that he doesn't like. Changing the start time makes it less of a crunch for him, but it puts someone else in a bind.

And I don't want you to think I'm attacking you about this. I'm not. I got a little spicy with my last response, but I am just hugely against shortening prep day. Ask to lengthen battle day all you want. I'm not saying I like that either, but my reasoning behind that is a less concrete, "I don't want wars to take that long"

My clan is all adults. We war back to back. Many of us have children. All of us have jobs. Aside from a few special circumstances, no one ever misses a war attack. They take 3 minutes. Most experienced players that I know take 5-10 minutes to scout. I don't understand how you think this will make SC more money because if it would they would have done it by now. You are essentially asking for war time to be changed because? people in your clan are unable to take 15 minutes out of their life twice a day every other day to attack in war? Perhaps a different game is what you need. I disagree with this idea very much. War times are fine. No change needed.
