Tips for recruiting

I am currently a member of a month-old clan, but despite having 50 people and name that brings lots of people in (Patriots rule), I had been having recruiting troubles. It seems that gold and up are the best for recruiting, as in silver 1 with 1390 trophies, nobody would join my clan. One day later, in gold with 1448 trophies, everyone had to join. We are now full, but demoting and kicking a bunch of people soon. Any ideas for recruiting, advice for low-league players, or just general things for getting people in your clan?
