Why does HayDay want access to my photos?

I was just going through the Privacy settings on my iPhone, which runs iOS 10.2.1 (i.e. the latest version), and noticed that HayDay is in the list of apps that want access to my Photos. Anybody know what's up with that?

I can imagine that the in-game friends feature would need this if it allowed setting an avatar. It might eventually evolve to that, but it doesn't do that today. I'm at a loss for other reasons, though.

If you take screenshots of your farm, will your iPhone allow these pics to be saved to Photos without this permission?

Screenshots still work. Which is what I expected, as that's functionality of iOS and not of any particular app.

Makes sense. Another game I've played has a camera feature within the game, and since I have photo access disabled, I'll get a notification to turn photo access on whenever I accidentally tap the "camera." I mixed up the two games in my mind there.

Fascinating. I use Android on a tablet and went to the Application Manager to check the permissions of apps. Google+ can access my Google Photos but Hay Day doesn't need to.

I just took a look at mine, and Hay Day is not listed under the Privacy > Photos settings. :saywhat: I'll check with the team but I don't see any reason why Hay Day would need access.

The screen shot function is a iOS standard feature and it doesn't care which app is in use.

Nick, I just re-installed Hay Day now for check and the game wants to access to Photos on Android. Why?

Sounds odd.. I'll have to ask our tech guys but AFAIK it shouldn't do that or then there's some new change in the API's.

Maybe on iOS for upload Hay Day avatar from Game Center, but on Android it's really strange.

The Game Center avatar comes from Game Center, not the device's photos.

My guess/hope is that the developers were prototyping managing avatars with the in-game friends feature, and even though you and I can't see it there's still bits in progress.
