Need advice on moving to TH9

The only problem with the whole "I'll rush my base and still finish my upgrades in the same amount of time" argument... is that you won't. You'll be a rushed th8 trying to get by in a world of th9's. You won't be a very efficient farmer and your base won't protect your loot.

I think when he says "max everything" yeah he means "max everything", spring traps, poison, etc. Why wouldn't you? I can say with certainty that if someone maxes everything, and you don't... they are for sure stronger than you in terms of offense and defense capabilities. Now, I'm not saying they are a better attacker or anything just because they can have a maxed. You could have a maxed base or rushed base and still be a poor attacker, but at least with a maxed base he'll hold up defensively better.

As far as the OP's concerns about moving on to th9, don't be in a hurry bro. If your leader wants minions to 4, either get your minions to 4 or find a new clan. It's your leader's job to look out for his clan. He feels like that's what he's doing. So he's doing his job. You should actually feel privilaged that you have a leader who takes things like that into consideration. I was in a clan where upgrading your base and troops didn't matter to the leader. That clan was frustrating when we went to war. I left. Good luck on your base.

I just have a hard time understanding this. For the OP's benefit I don't see a reason not to move on when you are approaching max. Also if you max before you hit the upgrade button you just chose to spend 10 days upgrading 1 building while your other builders and lab are left idle.
Back to the quote above: How can you say with a certainty that you will be stronger than a rushed base of the same age and resources? If I save 3-4 weeks time by skipping, poison, eq, and 1 troop I don't use and upgrade to the next town hall then I have 3-4 weeks of TH9 upgrades to use against your max TH8 base. So I'll have upgraded my CC, Lab, SF, camps, and 2 troops. My army will be far stronger than yours. Then I can upgrade the little things I skipped while you catch up to me.

And then we'll all be finished at the same time. :) Except I was busy in war as the strongest TH8 that there is, while you were busy in war as the weakest th9 you'll ever be.

Don't be afraid of sleeping builders. A lot of the time people think that having a builder just sitting there is a bad thing. Then they end up throwing him on some defensive structure and throwing them into a realm of base weight that they can't offensively sustain. Sleeping builders are fine. While you're waiting for your minions to upgrade, perfect your war attacks. Enjoy being top of your class in war. It's a game. Is he wasting time? No, man. There's no reason to rush around and hurry everything. You'll never get it all finished.

Not really. Having Minions 4 isn't going to protect his base any better than Minions 2.

And if he intends to Max TH9 his lab will likely be fully finished long before his walls and heroes.

I went to 9 (on my 2nd account) with 4 or 5 lab upgrades not done at 8 and less than half the walls finished.

EQ 3 the very last upgrade will finish in a day or two at that point what I have left is

BK currently upgrading to 22
AQ 26
About 120 L10 walls to go.

I probably should move the account to 9.5, be easier to finish off the heroes, but the thought of elixir grinding that account is not real appealing at this time.

That's awesome. You were able to rush your base and then recover it. I'm happy for you. Now you're contemplating rushing again? More power to you. You'll be able to go through your entire clash existance never having been qualified to join an elite clan. :thumbsup:

Your posting in the wrong thread then. The OP made this statemnet: "I desperately want to upgrade to TH9 because the game has gotten really quite boring. My storages are full (except my DE storage), my treasury is full and my collector loot is going to waste."


As for how my war will be, we are all going to be weak TH9s when first get there. As the bottom TH9 I'll be expected to beat the Maxed TH8s that are my mirror or below me. With 220 troops, 9 spells, 30 CC space, and upgraded troops I'll have no problem getting 3 stars and making my clanmates happy. My first new defenses will be an air defense, air sweeper, and tesla. Making it much harder for even a maxed TH8 to get 3 stars.


I'll also be donating higher level troops sooner than you. All around I see upgrading a little early as getting stronger first. We might finish at the same time but my army will be stronger while your base is stronger. And if you haven't noticed a weak TH9 offense will beat a maxed TH8 defense. So I don't see how you convinced that maxing = stronger in both offense and defense especially going TH8 to TH9.


I am not saying everyone should rush. If you enjoy a certain level and want to max out while you hangout at that level GOOD. Have fun, it is a game. Just don't spout nonse about being stronger and better when you are not.


Staying at a Town hall level and improving your skills, if you need it, is a valid reason not to rush. But saying maxing spring traps and spells will make you stronger than a 1 month old TH9 is silly.

Meh, elite clans are over ratted. I prefer my little friends and family clan anyway. I only joined clash because my son needed some more accounts for war but I got hooked. BTW, elite clans don't really care if you are maxed, they just care if you can get a 6 pack in war v equivalent TH level, at least through TH9.

This argument is completely false having maxed Defenses below TH10 makes no difference at all. I am sorry but my brother has rushed his account to TH9 with weak defenses and he only played a few months. He is able to completely raid (100% Loot bonus and take all Loot from) a fully maxed TH9 base. Now if he is able to do that what good is it to max your TH9 when a rushed TH9 can take all your loot?

This is another argument that is completely wrong and you are giving false hope. If my little brother or the OP decides they want to be in an elite clan (As in top 1%) in order to max their defense and offense to TH11 we are talking years before they would even be finished to join a top elite clan. Who even knows if they will still be playing the game after that long. Even if they gemmed to TH11 most elite clans would not even consider taking them till they had some clan war experience. The only way someone who is TH8 or below is getting in an clan would be to know someone on the inside or maybe if they streamed and could prove they had the skill needed. Elite clans are looking for Maxed out TH11 accounts with experienced players.

The fact is average clans benefit more from slightly engineered (Rushed) bases that have strong war troops. If you are able to farm with war troops and keep 5 builders and a lab busy like my brother can you will be an asset to any clan.
