Hello, I am currently at Town Hall level 4 (Upgrading to 5). I have just lost my 48th defense in a row. My question is, how do I win? Most of the time, my enemy is deploying a large amount of level 5 wizards or level 5 giants.

You dont really defend until you are close to Maxing out TH10. This is why rushing is the best strategy right now. I recommend you get to TH8 ASAP and then from then on researching only these troops now (Loons, Lava Hound, Valkyrie, Giants, Wizards, Healers (if not max)) and keep all your builders just upgrading defenses until you hit TH10. After that you can just catch up or keep going to TH11 whichever you wish! Good Hunting! :cool:

Don't take the rushing advice dude, it will take you ages to catch up, and moreover you you will have a hard time being accepted in a good clan with the rushed base. To win defences, drop your trophies and get into a lower league. If you are not in a clan get into one clan that will donate high lvl troops, which will more than help win you defences. Cheers! This is my th4 base layout and i hardly get a loss of 100% even when level 4 troops are used and i get victory 1 in 3 defense at least and mostly people do a 1 start at my base.
you can keep the clan castle in the center instead of mortar only if you are in a clan and they donate decent troops.
let the townhall outside to lure them. this is good for both trophies and farming.
P.S. Don't rush your TH to higher level. take your time and you will learn alot of things on the way. always make sure that your th is almost maxed out before you put TH to upgrade because on higher level upgrading TH will take time in days and you can upgrade your few remaining buildings while the TH is being upgraded.

Meh it's really your decision so don't let people pressure you into maxing out your base before you go or rush. It really depends on what type of player you are.
Also do not be worried about getting into a clan (which it seems the other guys are assuming your not) because if you rush the smart way (Level only these war troops Loons, Lava Hound, Valkyrie, Giants, Wizards, Healers (if not max)) then your war weight will always be very low which means you will be smashing bases in Clan Wars. A good clan will see you as an asset because you are "Semi"-Engineered. Do not BARCH or Goblin Knife its a waste of your time and wont help you at all in a clan war.
You do not learn anything from doing farming armies and will be unprepared for clan wars. You will be a better player for any clan if you are capable of farming with only war troops.
Just think of it this way would you rather spend a couple of years doing Maraudon and Scarlet Monastery or would you rather just skip on ahead to the real game and be doing end game content raiding with the big boys!
