Massive diamond price hike!

Aybody else noticed the huge increase in diamond prices?
the 4K trunk of diamonds has now increased to £99 here in UK, it used to be £69.99.
Supercell please tell me how on earth can you justify a sudden increase of over 40% in cost??

its simply staggering!!

I for one won't be buying any more diamonds, once those I have are gone, I'm out.

The price increase that you see in GBP is not on Supercell's part but on Apple's. In the App Store, applications developers assign a price "tier" to their App or in-app purchases (like diamonds in Hay Day). The cost of a price "tier" is fixed only in dollars. For instance the 4000 diamonds cost $99.99, and that hasn't changed recently. However the cost of a price tier in any other currency (GBP, EUR, etc) is controlled entirely by Apple and adjusted with variations of currencies exchange rates.
In this present case, the GBP has become "weaker" compared to the USD in recent months (if you google the topic, Brexit is pointed as the culprit) and Apple decided to increase the price in GBP of price tiers accordingly.

Apple announced a couple of weeks ago that all apps would be increasing by 25% , due to the weak £ .
Apple have also increased most ( if not all ) of their prices on all their products in the UK since brexit .

But I bet your bottom dollar once the £ gets stronger , Apple won't drop their prices 😡
Unfortunately for us in the UK , it's the price we have to pay for brexit .... I won't get political ( as its breaking the forum rules ) but all I can say is.... I'll be purchasing more 💎💎💎😜

Im not sure when you last purchased your diamond package , but since last August ( my last purchase ) the prices were as follows -: 130 diamonds £3.99 , 275 diamonds £7.99 , 4000 ( trunk ) £79.99 . Add 25% onto these prices & that's what you see if you purchased today . I don't have a photographic memory ( mores the pity ) , I always take a screen shot of my purchase , just incase I don't get my diamonds , hence knowing the price . I'm just a bit gutted I didnt purchase before the price increase 😢

Ahh hate when that happens.

I remember that happening to Australia's app prices a while back.

If you keep up with tech news you can usually get knowledge of a change a few days in advanace.

I know a while back I stocked up on Clash gems days before an apple price hike.

Mm, I think the UKs are about the same price of ours (in American dollars) now. Well, according to google anyway.

I just love how Apple justifies a purchase for a virtual item. In the U.K. We have seen this kind of thing for years. Think of CD/music sales for example. Even with Britex I still see it as let's make money cause the Brits never complain about anything. LOL

Countries taxes also play a part, if I recall correctly in some countries you pay the in app price + a little extra for tax.

While in other countries, the in app price is inclusive of taxes.

Alhought not all of us Brits "put up & shut up " 😂
Im the equivalent of the female Victor Meldrew 😂.
I don't just complain to the retailer , I include the manufacturer .... With great success , I may add 😝

The same increase has been applied to Google prices too, not just apple.

I hadn't heard about this. I don't dare look at MAC prices. I have needed to buy one for a little while but I've been procrastinating, I'll kick myself if the MAC prices have gone up :(

I got a diamond offer earlier & thought 'Oh Golly Gosh, I don't think so'. Well, actually it was a little less polite and ended in 'off'. I'll be making the current diamond stash last!
