Who remembered to visit Greg's farm today for a freebie in the mystery box, and buy goods from his Roadside Shop...??? I must admit I sometimes forget... lol.

I go by his stall every day. He sells pretty good stuff actually :) Got some mining stuff yesterday as well.
Wow! Does he sell stuff all day every day? Well I got a shovel, cow food, chili pepper and a potato. I did get the coins though, not gonna complain though it was free! Thanks Gregg old boy!
i go to his farm everyday when the wheel of fortune truck and mailman arrives. and today greg has got a 1 wheat for 1 coin in his last stall i thought he was trading. because theres an unspoken rule about not buying from the last slot i hesitated for abit LOL

I used to visit several times a day but now it's only once a day, IF I remember. Today I got a shovel for 30 coins. The mystery boxes have mysteriously disappeared since the last update. That is the main reason why I no longer visit. I haven't seen a mystery box on Greg's farm since before the last update. And yes, I do look all over the entire farm. Nada, zero. Still, I am glad that I can sometimes find cheap saws and produce.
Oh, I bought the wheat for 1 coin yesterday, and today when I went to his farm I got a locked treasure chest and there was nothing whatsoever in his store. I must be on his blacklist now. He'll probably un-friend me.Quote:

I used to find the mystery boxes in the driveway on Greg's farm then that stopped. I started looking carefully around his farm in every possible place and have yet to find one. Just since this thread started I have checked Greg's farm 16 times, and yes, even in "innocuous" places and there are no mystery boxes at all. Can you please ask the Missus if she is experiencing the same issue? I may want to report it as an issue.Quote:

I have before visited Greg's farm several times in one day and each time there was a box. It doesn't happen all the time though. If the box won't open I usually just click on his farm in the friends tab to refresh his farm or go back to my farm and then back to his and try again to open the box. It will usually open but I may have to do this several times. :rolleyes: I usually do this for each box I find that wont open after I read about it in another post.
I really appreciate you taking the time to respond and check. I have visited Greg 13 times today and not a single box in sight (hidden or otherwise.) I do still find them all over other farms and about 1/12 are unlocked. I randomly pick farms in the DD to search for the boxes-sometime I find them, most often not. The reason why I was thinking of reporting it is because this only started happening after the last major update (fishing update.) Before that there would be a box, unlocked or locked, about every 2-3 visits to Greg's farm. I just wondered what changed and if it was intentional by the devs. Thanks again.Quote:

I found this out by accident about a week after joining this forum, so that's been since about the end of May and it's worked 100% of the time beautifully. Click on boxes on each farm, finally one opens, go back to my own farm and putz about for a minute or two collecting items, filling production ques or fishing, visit another farm and find a box, repeat, repeat. Works like a charm.
The only exception is when SC is working on something and all sorts of stuff goes wonky. Then there are no boxes at all to be found anywhere for between a few minutes to a couple of hours. Once things go back to normal, the tool boxes start appearing on every farm again.
I'm not sure but it may even work if I spend a long time at someone's farm. Sometimes, if I get a box to open on a farm and then spend a lot of time looking over their boat or watering plants, it appears as if I can visit another farm directly and find a box, without having to return to mine in between. I guess the amount of time I stayed on the farm after opening the box allowed the resetting of the tool boxes.
Now I know why I started this thread...!!! I forgot this morning...!!! lol. Better visit...

I did visit Greg's farm today and I have to say I was supremely disappointed... 1 raspberry (what the dickens am I supposed to do with that?) 1 wheat (give me a break) 1 ear of corn (very nice on a BBQ for 1) 1 soya bean (words fail me) and.... wait for it... 1 chicken feed! Hallelujah! Only another 17 chicken feeds to find to feed the whole ruddy flock! Good old Greg..

After reading this thread I have been experimenting with Greg's locked chest.
if you click on a locked chest, return to your farm WITHOUT clicking the x on the chest, then return to Greg's and keep repeating this procedure, the chest will eventually unlock. The chest will move around the farm sometimes but if you can be bothered you will win something for free.

I've noticed his boat as well....he must use a lot of diamonds because he has a boat there all the time. I don't know how many times I have tried clicking on his boat to see if he needs help. :confused:
I visited Greg's farm 8 times today and received 0 mystery boxes and bought 1 cacao from his store. Too bad we can't remove him from the friends list.
I haven't seen the mystery box on Greg's farm in over a week now, although since the update I have come across them at around 4 out of every 5 farms visited. The frequency of stumbling across an unlocked box is a little over 30% so I'm quite happy.
Goods in his stall have been a tad dreary this past week - wheat, corn, soybeans, indigo and the odd apple or two. No sign of saws, axes or explosives lately either! Agree with the previous poster, unfriend Greg (or at least a temporary switch to the other visitors) should be an option, as I think that the creepy bug eyed little girl's roadside stall would be awash with sharp tools and things that go boom.
I forgot again today, but seeing this thread reminded me to go... lol.

i checked on his stall was : TNT, shovel, axe & a lot more but I wish he will gave us the other goodies & tool stuffs too.

If you open one and then don't seem to find any more, return to YOUR farm for a minute or so. This seems to reset the tool box algorithm that pops them up.
I raid Greg's shop every day. I take everything! lol. Pretty much everyday I get some mining tools. I never remember to check for chests on anyone's farm. sigh...maybe that's why I don't have 100 vouchers!

It could apply to all farms, Greg's farm could be the only one that would definitely open every time you visited him, if you helped on someone else's farm (neighbors or someone in the DD) it would open but if you didn't help it would be random like it is now.
