Why do high level farmers often leave dozens of sold items in their RSS for days or weeks. I often see a RSS with 100s of BEMs, all sold, stay there for weeks. Whats the point? Is it really that hard to collect the money?

Ha ha ha! My *guess* is it's because it gives the appearance that you sell good stuff. Gains you followers and friends.
Just my guess.....
They are phishing.
It's just to show everyone how awesome they are ☺
It's so pointless, isn't it? I swear I keep coming across through the same handful of farmers who do this through the DD. Yeah, we get it, you once sold 10 planks, 30 mallets and 20 tapes... no need to rub it in for weeks.
I completely agree with Raelet! I follow people and add friends if I see they have posted items that I am looking for. Sometimes this is good, sometimes this is bad. It is a lot easier to get rid of people in your feed now that no longer post items. I try to frequently post items so that my new friends and followers stick with me. I deleted my Facebook about six months ago, so I lost many friends, and I appreciate the new book feature that has been added, the game is regaining it's value to me now.
It's worth noting that if you find such shops through the DD that it's just as likely that those items were sold out only moments before you got there.
Good items sell out fast which is why people advertise boring stuff and but put more interesting stuff in their shop.
Sometimes its obvious if there are 30 greyed out boxes of EMs of course.
If this person is a friend, neighbour or in your last helpers list and it rarely changes then, yes, they aren't picking up their money immediately.
Hi Grace!! Which farm are you? I *try* not to hog the rss, but sometimes I can't help myself!!
