Hi,
I'm new to TH10, have dropped infernos (the unplaced building icon when I bought the value pack was seriously annoying me so I had to :) ) and upgraded valks to max, otherwise just a max TH9.
My question is: Is the current balance of the game such that I should be three starring similar bases in war (average player)
I would say not yet. Valkyries aside, you are still a TH9. If you couldn't 3 star a new TH10 previously it is unlikely you'll be able to do it now.
Have you upgraded your army camps yet?
No, I haven't upgraded any army camps or any other offensive items
You should 3 star every TH9.
since you did infernos, you will most likely struggle to get triples v any 10 that has a decent layout for a while
As long as You don t have more camp space and spells slots, it will be hard to impossible , one level of one troop doesnt make the big difference .... if you already 3 stared rushed th 10 as th 9 it might be a little bit easyier ...

You have really done yourself no favours by placing infernos if you care about war, I think you will struggle to three star an equivalent base. Depending on your clan you should probably stay out of war until you have upgraded camps and spell factory, and even then you will probably need to focus on TH9s until you get troops upgraded.
Its not all about war though, so if that is not your main concern then I guess it doesn't matter.
good to know, thank-you, I two starred at 70% with a couple of mistakes but couldn't see how I could have got more than 85% or so.
It also depends on your hero levels, but probably won't 3 star any th 10s with infernos. Th 10 is a very tough th level.
Heros are the key to 3 star's, depends on match ups, it's possible to get 3 stars but I think your roster make up mate dictate your matching up top , when I was the only 10 and a premmie I was getting good match ups and could get 3 stars but when we added 2 or 10s to our roster and I was #1 it became a 2 star high percentage war scene, I'm fine with it somewhat because they are not 3 starring me or the other 10s
