SC have already said "not". They are working to remove any unfair advantage that it might bring.

they say Aspex is so abrasive, if he falls while snowboarding he starts an avalanch.

The simple fact is, they still got to 3 star your top bases. They may have more attempts but still don't mean they are going to win. As a clan, the only way we have counteracted these engineering clans are by avoiding large wars until supercell fix the issue.

Well then what's the problem?
If they are upgrading troops and heroes before dropping new defenses then they will be matching up with 8.5s or early 9s. The point is, if you don't have .5s in your war lineup, you are going in at a disadvantage. It is just the way this game has evolved.

we have a pair of new th7s upgrading troops and camps and they got paired up with sandbagging th11 and th10 bases. (thanks - all that green in our war log was getting kinda mundane)

yeah - i'm ready to go of the idea that SC will match us up evenly.

i messaged them again in-game regarding all of this. asking them how we can avoid lopsided clans in the future - got a reply, but no answer. :(

Stop thinking that just because two bases appear in the same map position that they are "paired up" and you'll be a lot happier.

Map position only shows a bases relative defensive strength within its own clan, nothing more.

For all we know this was an even match, you've said nothing about the rest of both sides' lineups.

I really do not understand why all this fuss about engineeering. Supercell acknowledged it needs to balance war matchmaking, and already started doing so. It's obvious SC wants us to upgrade both offense and defense, not just offense. I believe they will just update the game until not building defenses is not worth it anymore

I have now a very unfair war:
we: 2 th11 (maxed), 9 th10, 9 th9
them: 5 th11 (2 maxed, 3 th9.11 with max heroes) 7 th10 9 th9

we're getting slaughtered and they still have 6 th11 attacks left. we just do our best, get all war XP we can, and get ready for next war. Complaining won't help.
