So you want the Matchmaker to check the number of equivalent Th levels on each side. If one side has 2 Th11s the other side has to have 2 Th11s as well and so forth right? Lets say in your 20 v 20, there are 2 th11, 3 th10, and 15 th9, equal on each side. How do you ensure that each of those THs are equivalent to each other offensively and defensively? Because surely you wouldn't want 2 maxed Th11s matching up against 2 new Th11s. In a game where everyone is free to upgrade their base however they want, how is the match maker supposed to take into account all these variables?

There is a clan for everybody. Maybe one clan has slightly stronger th11's, but the other has stronger th10's or 9's. If the search takes longer, im completely fine with it. I'd rather that than the wars I know we hate as soon as they drop.

It makes sense to me. I believe he is saying that everyone in the lineup should have a chance to usefully contribute at roughly their own place in the lineup in most of their wars. So a th9 will have a chance at 3 starring another th9 as its chosen target, not having to attack a 9.5 or an 8 or a 3 or a 10 as their only possible available target to choose at the very start of the war. Of course there will always be dip clean up attacks and strategic dips in war, that's part of the teamwork of it. Pulling your own weight I think means having the chance to meaningfully contribute through exercise of skill on attacking an opponent appropriate for your offence power (neither too hard nor too easy). That's not to say lane matching is required to satisfy that hope, just that lineups be relevantly similar enough in distribution of th levels and broad offence/defence capacities at most points on the map.

Correct. Thank you for relating. Thought i was going crazy for a minute there. We have dropped to 10 v 10 and 15's because of it. I felt bad for our th8's who were really into the game. They had no role. No identity."Go clean that th3". I know you just got your shiny new level 4 hogs but, oh well, we need the stars on that junk account they have.

hearing the new sneak peaks about clan war tournaments, I am pretty certain engineered bases would probably not make the cut for clan war tournaments. I feel the clan war tournaments will be for maxes only. Not sure but why would SC ruin such a great idea to have the lopsided mismatches in clan war tournaments as well.

im doubt they will cut out the majority of the clash base by not allowing casuals and engineers to compete just so maxers can feel most powerful like the old days. I think its pretty unsporting you want rushers and casuals banned. Tournaments should be enjoyment by all.

Tournaments are gonna have to be sped up because I'd imagine they may run into issues with people being bigger town halls later in the tournament which would create an advantage. Im curious to see how they'd work that out. Then again, still getting my hopes up for tournaments in the first place.

I haven't seen or heard any of the sneak peaks, but if they are trying to adopt a game element similar to CWL then I could see them not allowing engineered bases to compete. Not too sure how they could accomplish that exactly though, but developing some system where you can't game it is foreseeable. CWL have some type of registration process and is fairly involved, so it couldn't be the exact same system obviously. If it is similar to CR's clan chest then it wouldn't really be a tournament in the traditional sense. Sounds interesting though.

Would love to see how they will aubitrarily define an engineered base or clan.

the only thing i'd like from this update is the same thing we've wanted for a LONG time. fair play

it'd also be nice to know SC's stance on sandbagging. no beating around the bush, just a straight answer. either 'we're working to remove it' or not.
