SC - Please Break Your Silence On Engineered Bases

So... I started this thread... and, for what it's worth, my clan has decided to stop warring due to all the engineered bases we've been seeing lately, and generally take a bit of a break from CoC (since about 2 weeks ago).

We used to constantly war for about 1.5 years... but, hey, I realize all this is probably pretty trivial when SC looks a the big picture. Players come & go.

I plan on checking back every so often to see if things change... but, hey... on the bright side, maybe this thread will finally quieten down now... ;)

Sorry to hear that...and although it can be frustrating, I never recommend quitting. You can adapt or adjust to counter or reduce your chances of facing engineering bases, or change your perspective on how you approach war and the game.

After their disappointing lack-of-answer in the qa, I can see a lot of us fp clans considering taking a real from cw.

I refuse to start sandbagging in order to get a fair match. And I'm also sick of seeing th10s and 11s in the enemy line up when we have none.

So what's left?

This thread still stands to show that we still want actual clarity on their stance on sandbagging. Question is, will they give us a concrete answer?

Not sure how many x.5 bases you are running, but run a war without the .5's I am sure you will be pleased with the results.

At least SC believes the use of lopsided bases to create an advantage is unfair, and they are still working to mitigate it. There is hope.

Don't give up entirely, but take a break if you need to! (But come back!) there are lots of fair, un"lopsided" clans out there, searching for a fair war. We find that 10v10 wars seem to be not too bad, only come up against an engineered base clan once every 10 wars or so... not that we win all of them in between, but al least we know we lose because the other side are better. Have you tried doing friendly wars? They're great for practice and to keep the clan active :)

This, my clan ran with max 4 .5s in 25/30/40 wars in the last 12 wars running with a roster of TH9 to 11, and we have been matched with some really good hyper engineers, 9/10 were against engineers, 4 knew what they were doing. We had no chance of winning even tho we gave them a fight, coming close to 1/2 stars in the end.
We have come to the conclusion that by benching . 5s results in good match as it showed the last 2 wars since doing so.
I really don't mind if we get a huge mismatch from time to time where there is no chance of winning , but that 9 in a row engineering opponents was over the top. Sure we beat half of them as there were some that had no clue on what they are doing in engineering.
Like Warios pointed out, drop the .5s for a cpl of wars and see ur self. Also another good option would be to go heavier on th10 in the roster. Ex 1-3 th11, 6-10 th10 rest th9 for those heavier clans facing the same issue.

Maybe easier said than done, but you need some strong bases up top to mitigate the effects of engineering. We just had a war we have 2 gw, they had 7 in 15 v 15 war. They were th8-9 lvl defense with max valks or bowlers at 6,7,8,9,10., their 15 even had th10 bowlers! we have a max th11, new th11, max th10, medium th10, in our top 4, the rest th9. My first reaction was terror when I saw the match! Lol all those gw and max troops. I realized looking at it, they would for sure 3 star our 5 down, and probably more. But also, we would 3 star their 4 and down maybe more. End result, we won 44-40. One of my clan mates made a comment "why would they rush like that, dumb". I explained the whole offense vs defense weight aspect, he was like whatever. Lol. I will admit, they were not the best attackers, and did not use their attacks wisely, but even still, if you can get 44-45 stars in a 15v15.gonna be tough to beat. This war turned out to be less effort that a 'normal' war, because they were easier to 3 star that usual. Winning streak now 6,curious to see what we get tonight.

People are still complaining about this? The only way you get an engineered clan is if youre running .5s yourself. We consistently war with 6 to 10 .5s and we rarely get a full engineered clan. Maybe 1 in the last 50 which just happens to be the current war we are in. So if you are running .5s yourself then come here to complain you dont really have anything to complain about other than they out played you in war. Just saying
